is there any way to get charms at waterfiends while training DEFENSE? Is there any good weapon there that only trains strength? I don't really want to do controlled, but if there is no other option I guess I could..

Could do aggressive with saradomin sword. You can get defence later with an abyssal whip.

Agreed with blade, but if you're allergic to str exp at fiends you could range them or use v flail/t hammers. Not much variation for defensive crushing.

There is no efficient way to kill waterfiends using Defensive mode. Your best bet is to either; Use Zspear and just put up with slow defence xp. And powertrain at armoured zombies after. EDIT - You can Defensive barrage at Rock Lobsters. That would give you some fast xp in summoning, defense, mage and hps.

your fault for getting 99 strength before 99 atk + def :)

I know plenty of players that plan ahead, you should have.

other than training with a z-spear on controlled, you don't exactly have many options.

Full verac's with turmoil and overloads is semi-efficiant for pure defence exp at waterfiends...otherwise, no, you'll need to train str or Mage.

Full veracs is not at all efficient. A v flail with karils would be better.

Waterfiends hit you with mage based ranged. Karils > Bandos.

yep, they have a pure mage attack, and mage based range attack.

 

as for the question at hand, your only options for a defensive crush weapon is a verac flail or maybe torag hammers.

If you have 99 attack and 99 strength you can whip them with constant piety (NOT turmoil, piety is better than turmoil at waterfiends). I posted this on a previous waterfiend task topic and got heavily doubted.. I will make a video when I get back members but at maxed melee (no extremes) and piety I got ~75 crimsons per Unicorn roughly which equates to 100 kills an hour. Lucipher6 is also known to whip waterfiends. Comparing this to Z spear and Saradomin Sword, you only get about 10-30 kills less an hour, so I'd say it's pretty decent. Oh, forgot to mention this is obviously on a slayer task, it'd be much less off task.
