April 27, 201016 yr - What are battles robes? Are they worth using while barraging? Whats the effect? Can you buy them or are they from a mini-game? - Do I lose anything (charms/hr) while casting on defensive? I already have 99 magic and 99 hp, and defense is my only melee stat not at 99, so should I cast defensive? http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt206/samtheninja/Tags/FEARLESStag.jpg http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy156/song4thedeaf/stuff.png what i'm doing now: https://linktr.ee/student1
April 27, 201016 yr Battle robes are like infinity but suckier. They're from fog and need repairs every 6 hours. The reason they're so used is because with Sol and those robes, you get Half of the runes from your casts back. Defensive casting will only effect your Mage exp/hour, to my knowledge. Drops: Black Mask.Clue rewards: Sara Plate, 2 Robins, Some other random stuff.
April 27, 201016 yr Battle Robes are mage-based robes from Fist of Guthix, they offer good bonuses and have the effect of saving combat runes sometimes which works in conjunction with the SoL so that half your runes are saved. Because of that they are extremely popular and have a street price of ~15mil, plus they degrade and must be recharged with tokens from FoG (barring reselling and rebuying a new set). http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots

Since they are so expensive... @L0rd, wont that, i turn, affect my charms per hour? My two goals right now are 96 summoning and 99 defense, and I would like to knock them out at the same time, if possible. http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt206/samtheninja/Tags/FEARLESStag.jpg http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy156/song4thedeaf/stuff.png what i'm doing now: https://linktr.ee/student1
April 27, 201016 yr Battle robes are better. You can resell them once you're done. How to Chin Nechyraels for fast XP and profit
April 27, 201016 yr I hear that if you leave offers in the ge and keep updating them you'll get some eventually, but if you're in a hurry and/or have no junk go with Ahrims. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots
April 27, 201016 yr Just fog a little bit in f2p to get tokens. The Mage xp is halved, as the other half goes to defence exp. Your hp exp/hour and damage isn't affected. Drops: Black Mask.Clue rewards: Sara Plate, 2 Robins, Some other random stuff.
April 28, 201016 yr Just spend a few days at fog to get them, I did it on ftp worlds because I found it easier... the time it takes to get enough tokens will be a nice break from barraging, and will only take a few hours max. They are really good to have when barraging with a sol.

April 28, 201016 yr Author You only need like 50 tokens per recharge...lol. Spend an extra few hours and you're good.oh I see. I thought you had to buy them again. Thanks! Whats a good inventory/equipment for ftp fog? http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt206/samtheninja/Tags/FEARLESStag.jpg http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy156/song4thedeaf/stuff.png what i'm doing now: https://linktr.ee/student1
April 28, 201016 yr No, you have it wrong. Every 6 hours you have to recharge your robes, which takes I believe 275 tokens (150 for body, 100 for bottom, 25 for hood, or something around that). That'd take 2 hours at most I'd say. And that is 6 hours of combat, similar to barrows. I'm easily making my set last 10 hours+, since I only put on for the casting. I got my set from the ge after a long time (never really updated offers, just once in a while), since I wasn't in a hurry to get them. Now that I got them and a sol, I can say that its easily worth it as long as you're willing to put in a couple hours of effort in fog to recharge them (unless you make enough money per hour to make battle robes useless, but I have no idea what that figure would be).
April 28, 201016 yr Which set is 50 tokens then? Drops: Black Mask.Clue rewards: Sara Plate, 2 Robins, Some other random stuff.

April 28, 201016 yr Author Meh, thanks for that. How many tokens/hour can you get?ive been playing for like 45 mnutes and I got like 80 tokens so far...in ftp. all my people have been under level 20, so I just stand in the middle. I've been getting 2k + charges each round. http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt206/samtheninja/Tags/FEARLESStag.jpg http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy156/song4thedeaf/stuff.png what i'm doing now: https://linktr.ee/student1
April 28, 201016 yr At about 105 tokens an hour...You'll get your robes charged in 2 and a half hours. With robes, you get 6 hours of half price casting and 2.5 hours recharging. In 8.5 hours with robes, you get 6 hours casting with 3 hours cost. In Normal Mage gear, you get 8.5 hours casting at 8.5 hours cost. Ran a quick calc, might be inaccurate, but if you earn more then 1.44m/hour it's more effective to use normal robes over battle robes. Assuming 1.2k casts an hour and 1k per cast. Drops: Black Mask.Clue rewards: Sara Plate, 2 Robins, Some other random stuff.
April 28, 201016 yr I recall that Jagex explicitly stated that the battle robes have a chance of activating their own effect on top of the already boosted SoL effect, which makes for a 65% chance to save runes overall. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug

Keep in mind though that it is 6 hours of combat, similar to barrows. You can easily make a set of fully charged battle robes last 10+ hours, since a lot of the time is spent luring. Also, I'm fairly certain that it is under 600 casts per hour, not at all near 1.2k (I think anyways, haven't really measured).

Yes 600 per hour is probably close to the max, I've never gotten the opportunity to barrage on a 2k pop world. I developed a new lure that helps compensate for lower population worlds though. It takes 30 seconds to complete from the drop pile to the initial cast, but I don't wait for respawns at the drop pile, I wait near the ladder and can complete the lure from there in about 22 seconds.
