Can anyone good with probability compare whip vs gs and rcbow with rune bolts vs karils bow at tds? Assume they are all the same accuracy and perfect switching. Please note I am not looking for which has been better in experience, but some mathematical conclusion.

If you really could switch perfectly in zero time (and this assumption might require predicting the future, since your internet, screen, and mouse/keyboard already introduces delay), wouldn't that make the comparison just the same as anywhere else? (Ignoring possibly the effects of the fire shield.)

 

I'm still a TD noob, but I always assumed the tradeoff for slower, heavier-hitting weapons was to ease the switching, and to get the most extra damage in per switch.

This is exactly right, I'd say that the GS and Rune C'bow are better because you CAN switch perfectly with them. Them Karil's C'bow and Whip are incredibly hard to switch with.

NOTE: the "average damage" is the damage conditional on hitting 310+. If you hit under 310, that would fall under the next category down.

 

Abyssal whip:

Max hit of abyssal whip + defender: 508

Mean hit of abyssal whip + defender: 254

Standard deviation of abyssal whip + defender: 146.64

 

Chance to hit over 310 in the first hit: 0.0000

Chance to hit over 310 in two hits: 0.8301 - average of 541.28

Chance to hit over 310 in three hits: 0.1323 - average of 619.93

Chance to hit over 310 in four or more hits: 0.0359 - average of 657.37

 

On average you will hit 554.93 damage over 2.2 hits (5.28s).

Mean hit of godsword: 320.5

Abyssal whip has a slight advantage, but this does not account for godswords' greater accuracy and the penalty of missing. Godswords are also easier to switch with.

Godswords are better. Big hits far outweigh fast hits for tds.

 

Rune bolts are overkill in all honesty, tip.its calculator tells me that around my levels(don't know yours) you gain about 3 to your max(30) while spending about 8 times as much per shot, and if you use a soul wars cape, which is significantly better in my opinion, your expensive bolts will be stacking up on the floor.

 

Diamonds are basically useless because tds have horrible defense.

^This. Don't use a dhally it is a lot worse than godsword.

Rune bolts are worth it. A +30 max hit is around 3% faster, which brings me 150k-200k extra per hour, which is much less than the extra cost. Bladewing proved to me that whip is much better so I am going to be using it.

Not sure where you are pulling the 150-200k per hour figure from...on average you will not get even one more kill per hour *on average* (there are obviously exceptions, and one of those exceptions *could* drop claws).

 

On whip v gs, try both for a few trips each, and then you will know. I already personally did that, but I only personally did that because I did not believe someone who told me that a gs would be better until I had tried it for myself.
