Least painful way to FM?

Featured Replies

EDIT: Question answered, thanks everyone

I decided to do normal fming with yews

---------

Does anyone know if there's a way I can train Firemaking with a decent xp rate (50k+ an hour maybe) that doesn't hurt my wrist so much? I can only seem to make about 100k xp with maples and 3 tinderboxes before it starts to become painful.

I need to do 5m xp and I'm not really willing to spend too much since maples are so cheap.

I was considering penance horns, but apparently it takes a bloody long time to fill one up and I'd need to do it at least 4 times.

It probably would be a better idea to do like 1k a day, but I'm not really the sort of person who sticks to daily plans.

bring varrock teleport runes

firemake from the center of varrock, and it should bring you to the bank

bank there and teleport back

saves you the time of running back and forth

woah never thought of that

I would do yews/ecus and one tinderbox. I really have no experience with the "pain" of fming as all of mine from 60 is from evil trees are brawling gloves :D

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

You could always do the all fired up minigame. Which earns you decent experience. Only thing is that once you light up all the beacons you can you have to wait until all beacons to burn out before starting again since you won't get bonus exp if you relight a beacon when another is already lit. Kind of stupid imo since it would be perfect for you. As of now it only supplements normal firemaking.

1) multiple tinderboxes is a waste. It slows xp and hurts your wrist more as you have to make different narrow movements thus exercising muscles differently whihc creatures strain sooner than repetition does.

2) Better logs = faster xp

3) Use ring of fire and flaming gloves

Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills ::  Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA Rewards

Dragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

You can cut trees with the inferno adze. It provides a chance that 25% of your inventory of logs will be burned.

Except it's not THAT fast so yeah... at least it's not painful and you can train wcing.

Oh, that's interesting. I've thought it was easier on the wrist for years without really testing it =/

I'll see how well I do with 1 tinderbox and if it fails I guess I'll have to train with expensive logs :(

Just burn mages, the gp shouldn't take long to make with your stats, and at least it won't completely kill your wrists.

What, 23m will take forever =/

I think I'll use yew at most

look up eucalyptus too, they pretty much get the same xp as yews (slightly less)

they're usually more efficient to burn than yews, since eucalyptus logs are only useful for burning.

Yews are currently more efficient than eucalyptus at all incomes over -264,600/hour.

I got to 98 FM a few ways:

1. If you like to merch, do it in world 2.

2. Sell Dragon weapons to PVPers on PVP worlds (for a profit obviously) as you firemake.
