catlover2041
I'm curious- what level do I have to be (if that's even the deciding factor) for giant bats to leave me alone? It's very hard to mine coal with these things constantly attacking me :(.
Kidd_Varrow
Take the monster's level, multiply it by 2, and add 1. That's the combat level you need to be for it to not attack you.
Goldenjkered
You need to be double their combat level +1, I can't remember what their combat level is, but I think it's 29, so therefore it would be 59 combat. If you're in wilderness then they will always attack you no matter what you're combat level is. Zaaps1
There are exceptions to the double+1 rule, so be careful. Bats aren't one of the exceptions, but there are exceptions out there. For example, the rule NEVER applies in the Wilderness, and some monsters such as Flesh Crawlers and lv 50 Giant Spiders don't obey it. ~It's Super Effective! Ellac
As a general rule, monsters follow the rule 2c+1, where c is the monster's combat level. As zaaps mentioned, there are exceptions. Thanks to Iglw for the amazing signature!
Youmu
Take the monster's combat level, multiply by 2, then +1. If you're lower than that, the monsters nearby usually go unaggressive after 10-15 minutes. Generally monsters over level 69, wilderness monsters, and dungeoneering monsters will always be aggressive towards you. There will be a few monsters that will always be aggressive, period. In that case, the only way to make them go unaggressive is to wait the time.
