I'm curious- what level do I have to be (if that's even the deciding factor) for giant bats to leave me alone? It's very hard to mine coal with these things constantly attacking me :(.

Other than that, however, I operate on the philosophy of "You never know when an evil chicken might decide to kick your butt, so carry nothing you aren't A) willing to part with, and/or B) unable to do what you're going to do without. So, of course, I am rarely seen without my rubber chicken and my christmas hat and scarf, and sometimes my dwarven clothing.

I dunno. I'm level 24, and I can make it from varrock to the ardougne-wildy teleport. The secret is to avoid getting hit.
