Dying in RS

Featured Replies

Okay, I looked around the site and on the RS site, and I cannot seem to find a guide to what happens when you die in RS. I know you keep 3 items etc, Ive been playing for awhile. My question really is what determines your gravestone, and what can you do to get other people's stuff when they die?

You can buy gravestones that last from the basic 1, up to 5 minutes.

You can't get other people's stuff when they die - only bless the grave so that they can get their own stuff back.

Well first of all since the update to try and prevent real world trading (paying actual money for rs items) there is basically no way you can get the items someone else dropped. (unless the items dropped are within the gold value that they are allowed to trade according to how many quests they have done). What determines your gravestone is which one you have bought. If you have not bought a gravestone, than you have the normal one, which lasts about a minute or two, you can buy more expensive ones from the monk in the church in lumbrige i think. The longest lasting gravestone is the one bought from the dwarf after completing the giant dwarf members quest.

Here is what you need:

But just to do a quickie, this is some things you should just know.

When you die, you keep three of the most valuable items based on shop prices. When you die, you get a gravestone, depending on what type you have, it can last from three to six minutes. You can upgrade your gravestones by buying them and doing some quests. Now, people can repair your gravestone to the maximum time for a cost of 3 prayer points - if they have 70 prayer, they can even bless it which gives you an hour.

You can buy different levels of gravestones from Father Aereck in the Lumbridge chuch. The type of gravestone you purchase determines how long you have to return and retrieve your items. As far as getting other peoples stuff, when the gravestones were introduced that was taken out of the game. The only the person who dies can pick up their stuff.

Well, thank you all for that. I just think it is dumb that if a person is stupid enough to let themselves die say in the rock caverns while fishing, their stuff should be fair game. Oh well

If I recall, you can buy better gravestones in Keldagrim, though I can't remember if you need to complete a quest.

Yeap, giant dwarf gets you the one with 5min time i think, thought it costs 500k

But keep in mind that once you buy the gravestone, every time you die, you still have that gravestone, no need to buy another.
