Runescape ruining browser

When I use Mozilla Firefox to run Runescape, I can't post anything on tip.it. Right now, I have to use Internet Explorer to post. When I click "post," it apparently posts but I can't do anything else on any more tabs. Everything just says loading. When I don't run Runescape, none of this happens. This has also happened on youtube and just about every other website. After a while, everything just says loading. Help please?

use rs client or swiftkit. Problem solved.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Changing what your browser doesn't fix anything, especially if you're used to using Fx and have a lot of useful addons.

Anyway, I'd try doing Tools > Clear Recent History, make sure everything is ticked and that the time range is set to 'Everything'. You'll need to log in afterwards, but it's worked for other people when they've had trouble logging in to forums. If that doesn't fix it, I'd try disabling any addons you've got and then re-enabling them one by one to see if you can find any that are causing problems.

nmanitstinksn, before you actually do much of anything to your browser and other system parts, I have a few questions for you:

Java Version?

Browser Version?

Current Browser Add-Ons?

Operating System?

Anything else you can tell us that you think might be helpful?

I've seen something similar before, and all I had to do was change a website I was using for some particular activity I was doing in order to end the issue. Might be the same thing here, or it might not be. Either way, answering the above questions can potentially help in determining what's up. :)

(p.s.: Unlikely you've got the same problem as me, BTW... Everyone's mileage is prone to varying.)

  • 2 weeks later...

RSClient is just Internet Explorer with a different name, and I'd avoid the default Chrome client unless you trust Google with your personal information. If you want to try it, use Iron instead.
