I've wanted to persue my goal of a Range Tank for some time now but I'm not sure what I should be working towards. Here's my Current Levels and Goal Levels:

Range: 79/99

Defence: 83/99

Constitution: 81/99

Attack: 78/80 ***

Strength: 75/80 ***

Magic: 78/94 (Or 99?)

Prayer: 70/70 (Or 95?)

Summoning: 68/??

*** = Just to have them as nice round Levels....

Also, what should I wear and what should my inventory set up be? I was thinking between the following types:

Void Tank

Void Range/Mage Tank (?)

Any other suggestions PLEASE??

For the Void Tank I was tihnking of wearing

Void Range Helm

Amulet of Ranging

Ava's Accumulator

Rune Crossbow

Dragon Bolts (e) (Worth it?)

Void Gloves

Void Robe Top

Void Robe Bottom

Snake Skin Boots

Shield???

Ring???

As for the Void Range/Mage Tank I'm clueless...

PLEASE HELP!? Thank you!!!!

well i'm sort of a range tank too and currently i'm just keeping my att/str 75ish and getting maxed defense, range, mage, and hp. My range tank is more for fun, being low combat and having pro skills and sometimes pking. The mage I would say get to level 94 both for highest ice ancient magic spell and also for vengence. both are pretty good for rushing and 1v1 fights respectively

OP, technically not a tank, as its melee based.

are you planning to use it for monster hunting, pking, or just doing for kicks?

Thanks for the advice all 3 of you. And as to the last person, I plan to use t for a bit of everything. Armadyl Solo's would be nice, a bit of PKing would be good, and just for overall use really. I was looking more into the PKing aspect of the Range Tank though to be honest. Thanks to everyone! Any more suggestions please?

My stats at the moment are probably quite range-tank based.

Essentially keep attack and strength as low as possible and get range and defence as high as possible.

At my level (or at 99 range/defence/hp/mage) you can level attack and strength upto level 75 without gaining any combat levels which is useful for pking.

For me, range tanks work in many situations and can make money pretty well.

Anymore questions or anything in more detail, i'll check back later to answer anything else.

I used to be a maxed range tank (on my banned account)

I'm assuming this is for dangerous PvP

I strongly suggest you follow these tips:

If you absolutely insist on training defence, do not train it beyond lvl 94. At lvl 94 you get the highest possible boost from a super defence potion. If you go to 99 defence, you'll be against foes with higher offensive power-- their offence will be more "potent" than your defence and you'll be at a huge disadvantage. 99 defence is overrated. Don't get it. I repeat: DO NOT GET IT.

Stop training your att/str immediately-- you're already melee-based. Each att/str lvl you gain makes you weaker because it increases your combat level and you don't use melee as a tank-ranger.

Get HP as high as you want.

Get magic as high as you can... 94+ is strongly recommended-- magic is mostly just for mage def, though.

Don't PK in void, it's not worth the risk. If you want the best chances for a kill you should hybrid with magic. You can hybrid with ancients and have mystic boots, god cape, and a few other magic-boosting items and then ice barrage your opponent the moment they start to escape. If they don't teleport it's a guaranteed kill. Otherwise hopefully you can KO them w/ range somehow.

Vengeance is probably the most reliable-- I usually just sat back and used dragon bolts (e) and practiced timing my vengeance properly. Phoenix necklaces allow you to go for kills without worrying about getting KO'd yourself.
