wcing or fishing

fishing rocktail of course

idk which is best to wc for money

Woodcutting is pretty much a giant failure for money. You'd probably be better off with fishing.

Fishing is easily a much better way to make money. Your best option would be to stay away from Woodcutting if you want to make money. However, if you have to woodcut for money for whatever reason, I would recommend yews.

You can log out any time you like, but you can never leave.

You can't really make any money woodcutting...it's not much of a moneymaking skill. At 99 woodcutting you make slightly less profit than you'd get from picking flax in Seers' Village. So yeah.

Fishing isn't very good for money either. It's pretty sad even at its best--rocktails max in the 250k gp/hr range. Slightly better--this time it's comparable to gathering swamp toads or making oak planks with Varrock teletabs.

The fact that you associate fishing and woodcutting with making money at all is a sign that you really need to lower your expectations if you plan on getting them to 99, because there will be level 3's out there with literally no skill levels and no quests who will be tanning d'hides or something, and they'll be making twice the gp/hr you'll be getting at rocktails.

Its daft to say stuff you cant make money woodcutting or fishing, when you plainly do.

Now not withstanding effieciency ratings etc - some people would rather spend minimal attention and clicking doing fishing/wc and getting SOME exp and SOME money, then say chopping ivy for and hour then collecting flax for an hour.

Gathering skills are just not good money makers per hour (maybe mining runite), whereas gathering materials (flax, blue scales, mort myre fungus etc) give no exp.

As usual, it may be better to do something you enjoy (ish) rather than the most efficient, but to answer your question rocktails at 99 (say 250k/H) beat yews/eucs/magic logs at 99 (only about 100k/h i think?)

Just because something turns a profit doesn't mean it's a moneymaker. You make profit working on the banana plantation at Musa Point, but it's not a real moneymaker. That's more what I was trying to say there.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy fishing and woodcutting as much as the next guy. Probably a lot more than the next guy--I didn't get 38m combined xp in both skills for nothing, and I don't regret it. But even a gathering freak like me has to admit that it's horrible for profit. I made about twice as much money off 99 cooking than from 99 woodcutting and fishing combined, and it was faster too. (Although to be fair, I did only make 6m from 99 fishing. Heavy rod ftw.)
