Runecrafting/Construction

Featured Replies

Hi

I was wondering if ZMI is the best way for runecrafting, if so, what is the average xp/hr and is there profit from the random runes i get? im lvl 53 rc

I also have a question on construction, is there any 'skill' to it, or is it just easy or for those rich people who can buy infinite planks, it just doesnt seem like theres any simpler and inexpensive method w/o spending a good amt of gp, and there seems to be no real dedication of time rather than running back and forth, so in gist..... is there any way to lvl it besides endless oak planks?

thanks!

You need bought materials in just about everything in construction, so no. Only money can keep you leveling it.

Quests just keep bringing me back to this game.

A friend of mine prefers ZMI for runecrafting, but I prefer to do nature runs. I have no idea about profits though; I make runes for personal use. ^_^;

Using penguin points, xp lamps, and doing the quests that reward you with Construction xp all help. As does Shattered Heart.

^^^At least I'm not the only crazy one

For runecrafting, you are generally better off doing regular rcing (ie: abyss, graahk) until you are a high level. You do not profit at all doing ZMI, and the time it saves does not outweigh the profit you could have made, assuming a 1m/hour income or less, and 2 month old calculations. I determined the time it would take to get 99 rc assuming 20k exp/hour graahking vs. 50k exp/hour ZMI. You can easily get more exp/hour graahking and 50k exp/hour at ZMI is pretty much max speed using 4 pouches and a familiar. Even with this assumptions, i calculated that regular rc was more efficient than ZMI. This is looking at the question in only as an efficiency question. If you hate rc with a passion, ZMI. It will take way less time, but give you less money. BTW, ZMI remains unprofitable until you are in the 80s, in which case it becomes marginally profitable or break-even-able. I personally did all my rc training through regular rc. I did airs to 13, fires to 44, nats to 82, astrals to 91, then graahk to 99. It took a hell of a long time, but made me more money than you could imagine.

As for the construction question, construction is essentially the amount of spare cash you have. You can get a few easy levels with quest rewards or cheap training, but you will not get anywhere far without putting in some serious cash. I have spent probably 10-15m on training supplies, let alone the cost of my 20m house (or more even >.<). Regardless, you will have to spend money on it at some point in time, and I would personally not use free exp on a skill like this. Its really not that expensive, compared to some skills, and the exp is bloody fast. Use your freebies on slow skills, skills you hate, or expensive skills (herblore or prayer?)

You're Runecrafting level is pretty. :)

OT: Gees basically summed it all up!

If you make more than 1m an hour, though ZMI is better.

I piety the fool.

For construction, if you don't find it fun to design your own POH, have house parties, etc. Then don't bother training it (it's not for everyone, the money could be better spent on prayer/herb) , just get to level 60 or 75 for the essentials like an altar, portals, glory, etc.

Well, levelling seriously anyway :P Decorative rocks are free.

ZMI should be around 30k xp at your level. You really wont see much higher without the giant pouch.
