Dragon scimitar or Saradomin Sword?

I was just wondering if Saradomin Sword is that much better than Dragon Scimitar + Rune defender. Sara sword has +11 more strength, but D scimmy and rune defender have +4 slash attack and 18 - 20 defence bonuses from the defender. I don't really want to rake out 9.5 mil on a weapon that looks horrible. Are there any other alternatives?

Sara sword is better, hands down.

+11 strength is HUGE difference.

It adds up to a few k more xp/hr. I got SS because it was useful for WFS, and I wanted faster xp, but I sold after 99 Str. I'd get if you can afford, but its not worth busting the bank, or even spending all your cash on, or trying hard to borrow.

It's around 10k/hr exp difference in the Sara Sword's favor; but if you prefer the look of drag scim + def then it's a decent way to train str. Just realize that if you don't get a Sara Sword you'll probably need to get a Zammy Spear as a crush weapon.

^ Agreed.

I even bought back my Dragon Scimitar for FoG. You could borrow one and then try and see if you like it.

If you can afford SS, i dont see the disadvantage to getting it as long as you dont get it before a crash or something stupid like that.

Assuming it doesnt crash, you can always sell it back once your done, infact you may even make a profit.

O.O

Lend it for a day if you can and just decide how you like it. Definitly a better exp rate, especial is kind of fun, least alot more fun than scimitar.

Whip>SS>D Scimmy. The truth is, whip on controlled will give you the fastest overall experience. You will not be training one skill at once with a whip, but if you were, you would get more exp with a whip and defender than you would with a SS. Anything other than a whip (excluding chaotic weapons) are simply not efficient. If you are a pure, fine, use a SS, otherwise use a whip on controlled. If you refuse whipping, SS is far better than a D Scim. No questions asked.
