I run to where Edel is, and then make a loud noise by hitting something, to try to coax the zombie into view so that Edel can shoot it.

@ Edel, you fire the two shells already in your double barrel, and then open it to load in two more, but you slip and drop one down the stairs into the dark. (Bad roll for you, sorry). The flash from the gun illuminates to the bottom of the stairs, and you don't see anything. You do here a thumping sound now, in addition to moaning.

@ Mather, you succeed. +.2 crafting

@ Ross, you just hear the thumping sound, as if a fist is banging on something.

"Close the door and get back, we don't know if it's trying to climb the stair or not, but if we close it, then it can't get out and we'll know where it is, assuming it starts hitting the door"

 

I try to peer into the darkness, before stepping back and closing the door if Edel has moved.

@Ross, Edel for some reason kicked down the door instead of opening it, so there's no door to close. The moaning and thumping sounds are not getting closer.

I check if the fridge has a freezer the move it so it's facing the other door.

I notice the broken hinges. "That was smart, wasn't it..."

 

I start to slowly walk down the stairs, and accustom my eyes to the darkness, looking for any human figures, or anything at all, especially a light switch.

@ Mather, it doesn't have a freezer, and ok.

@Ross, the only light in the room at the bottom of the stairs if from the pilot light on something that may be a gas or hot water tank. You see the faint outline of a string hanging from the ceiling, possible from a light a good 10 feet into the room. From the bottom of the stairs, the moaning is coming from the right side of the room.

I start randomly kicking around whatever is in the basement (I assume boxes and stuff) to try and keep the zombie away from me so that it could trip or something.

I then back up into a corner and load one more clip into the gun (leaving me with ten I assume) and poise the gun up incase I feel anything obvious.

I make a human grunt and moan to lul the zombie over to the pointed barrel of my gun and if it comes near.

I fire,

@Edel, your gun is a double barrel shotgun. It holds two shells, which you have to load by opening the gun, and loading them into the barrels, basically. So you have 10 shells at the moment, with two in the gun. You still hear the thumping, and moaning. It still isn't getting closer. But it is close.

I close the fridge and turn on the gas, after a while I open the normal door, if there's anything there I slam open the fridge door and ignite with my lighter while quickly pulling my hand back.

@ Mather, the door is locked.

I take a lucky shot at what I hear (the zombie) first warning Ross to look out for it.

I unlock it with the key, open it and use the fridge flamethrower if neccessary.

@ Edel, the shot briefly illuminates the room, you see another door in the direction the sound is coming from.

@ Mather, you open the door, and a body falls out on top of the refrigerator, it looks like it was trying to get through the locked door.

I grab and pull the string (Inb4 barnacle from half life)

"Ross, we're safe!" I stumble up the stairs and try to find a light (flame or whatever, I think Mather had something) then I walk back downstairs again and reclaim the shell that fell down the stairs.

@ Ross, the light turns on. The basement is mostly empty, save for a few boxes of books. And the door where the sounds are coming from. It looks like the place was cleared out previously.

@ Edel, you fail to find the shell (bad roll)

I simply pick up the shell due to the fact that its going to be in the light then proceed to try and open up some of the boxes.

@ Edel, this time you find the shell.

"Edel, if I open this door, can you kill whatever is behind it?"

Taking the body as a sign that there's not any immediate danger I close the door, plant the knife in the skull (to be sure) and turn of the gass then let the fridge slowly vent.

@ mather, ok. The body is very dead, especially after being stabbed.

I appear near the guys cause I don't know how far they got, I try lockpick the door.

I loot the body then bring the key down to check if it fits the other door.
