Portrait - Trying out my new tablet

Featured Replies

Yeah, I recently bought a tablet.

Decided this was a nice time to try and work on both my painterskills, and my useage of the tablet..

I'm liking is sofar, and after a bit of experimenting with it, decided to draw up a portrait from a photograph I had on my computer.

Still work in progress, perhaps I'll finish this, perhaps I wont..

More to come, for sure.

And no lol why do you always want to get stuff from John Lewis. Its over ̣̉300 more then than what i paid.

John Lewis is a great, great shop.

sweet, tablets are pretty handy and it's good to see your using it ok, also great to see someone else posting a self portrait, wish people weren't so ashamed of themselves to post an image (I know actual photos aren't allowed but im sure art is ok.).

Looking great and im sure you'll touch up areas that need more attention, ears look a bit like coliflowers atm and the neck looks a bit sore.. But the face is mint, very detailed and lifelike, just hope you can get the hair right cus its gonna be pretty tricky.

Indeed, in that verion, the ear does look odd, although I've fixed it now.

Been working on it a bit, doing the hair now..

Looking a bit smudgy/blurry, and streaky in some areas. Although a great start, none the less!

Much luck with future paintings!

Which tablet are you using? I'm hoping to get an Intuos3 for Christmas, I hear it's great.

Looking good Demented! The face is pretty cool, but I'm guessing the hair is unfinished? Any advice for a poor tablet n33b? (Getting one for Christmas XD). I had a test of it and it's pretty hard to coordinate hand and eye.
