I don't think overloads at your level would be any good, so I'd get prayer. Plus, prayer cape untrimmed is silver coloured. Although untrimmed herby is pure green, which also looks very pleasing.

Uh... I'm gonna talk myself into a circle here, so I'd go with prayer. Also, with prayer, you won't get the constant Effigy spam/followers like you'd get with a herblore cape.

I was a maxed zerker and got 99 from 52 for about 300m'ish. Though, those 3 or so defence levels you get are worth it. Turmoil completely wrecks vs superhuman prayers in PvP from my experience. I feel prayer is more useful overall in comparison to herblore.

Can't you just get both?

The usefulness of both stop after ~95, so prayer is ultimately better since at least you get SOME benefit (extra prayer points) as opposed to none (level 99 or 96, your ovls aren't getting any better).

Yeah, just get 95 in both. They're the biggest skill investments you'll ever make, and they'll only get more expensive. Better to knock both out now.

Well, you could argue it's better to get 99 herblore by making overloads, than sticking at 95 and seeing every overload as a 80k investment (in stead of a "free" end product of a skill).

I'd say, get 95 prayer and 99 herblore if you can. If not, both 95. (and no, capes are stupid, don't even mention it)

Get 95 prayer and 96 herblore. Anything past 96 herb isnt worth it, unless you want the cape. If you want at least one cape out of this, prayer is the better of the two for usefulness. The extra ppoints you get are useful. At the end of the day, all you really want to strive for is 95 prayer, 96 herb, and 96 summ. Why not go for those? If you get all that, any boss you ever want to kill can be done so effectively.

Don't even get herb up to 95 or 96. It's no trouble coming by greenman's ale, or a stew boost for overloads. No sense throwing cash into a useless abyssmal pit of xp when you could better use it elsewhere.

Boosting to make overloads is a pain in the arse. It you have the cash to get 96, I see no reason why not to get it. The saved headache of trying to get the right boost, logging out and in at the right time, and the threat of having to restart the whole process by losing focus isnt worth the cash to me. What else should the cash go to? You pretty much have all the expensive skills nailed if you get 96 herb, 95 prayer and 96/99 summ (apart from crafting, construction, and smithing). Those three aren't worth getting 99 in unless you want to be maxed.
