Nice, btw if you want it accurate don't forget that the edges of the sheild are wood and the dragon emblem is grey.

MD666, all the ref pics I can find of the sheild show me no edging (I added it ause I thought it would look stupid without edging), and the dragon is black on all the ones I've seen. Do you have a specific pic that you were refering to?

erm nice one thing in official rs te sheild is on the left hand but this is your sig do as you please.

Nice, tho i believe the reason you "can't get the legs" is because ur toon has legs which are the same length as his chest, way out of proportion

That was posted before I posted the first update. I think the technical term is foreshortening, but I have never taken any art classes. Any advice? Sorry for no update, been REALLY ill lately. I'll try to post one later.

Here's a couple things that could be changed:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1) The dragon chain looks like dragonhide, not chainmail.

 

 

 

2) The feet and legs need work, but you know that.

 

 

 

3) The shield is too far down, so I'm not sure how it's staying on his arm.

 

 

 

4) What kind of sword/weapon is that?

 

 

 

5) He doesn't have a mouth...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway, looks pretty good so far. Get well soon!

The yellow arrows are the light, I figured that's how it would fall. Green, is stuff I plan to correct.

It still looks more like a beard to me. I think that it would look more like a facemask if it was tan, not brown.

I suppose, I'll add that to my list of fixes.

Unfortunately all your major problems are with the proportions, anatomy, and perspective.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As a suggestion I'd say you should start simple and try to sketch out your pieces beforehand, especially for complex drawings like the human figure, and especially when it's in such a difficult pose. Get some critiques on it and fix it up before starting on the rest.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Just remember to work with baby steps, and don't take any dangerous leaps (ie: detailing before you've finished linework). :)

Thanks for the critique venomai. I like to sketch things out beforehand, but the lack of a scanner is a problem. I'm getting a graphics tablet soon (7 days!!!!!!!) but I think scaners are better for this kind of thing. Can you recommend any sites so I can work on anatomy?
