I've been talking about this for a pretty long time, I think its been two weeks of hell for you now but I can finally announce that that I am nearly ready to start this new game.

The game will be a lot like all of the previous hegemony games but will have a lot of changes to the origional.

  •
  • First of all, it will rely on castles instead of borders; if you conquer castles you control that area.
  • It will be on a lot smaller scale to all others, even Ye Olde Hegemony was on a bigger scale.
  • Terrain will play a big part in war, I also have tree's
  • Its going to be alot faster paced.
  • It will be based around tactics, a fifty man army can beat a one hundred man army with good tactics.
  • I will rely on three sources of resources (food, coins, wood)

Resources

Resources are gained by either taking over farms or mines, there will be plenty to fight over so you will will never be without one. Wood is everywhere and is basically based on a guess by me on how many tree's are near you castles.

Food and Coins are used to help make soldiers or whatever other activitys however wood is only used in ship or war machine making.

Setting

This is set during the late middle ages, their is no bubonic plague but a large amount of European kings were murdered simultaneously leaving the barons in charge, of course the Barons wanted as much power for themselves as possible and a European war broke out between the Barons, You are the Barons.

Technology

Technology uses the 'moderator decides' system in which you post what resources you are funding (this will usually require all three apart from some exceptions which won't need wood), the more resources funded the generally better result.

Map

The map is good in every sense apart from the fact that the shape might be slightly off however it still follows the same basic shape as europe. I stopped drawing outwards at greece so from greece their should be a vertical line going up showing a little bit of Russia and finland. Because we are not having ownership based on countrys and instead castles two people are allowed to stay in one country (however I wouldn't reccomend doing it unless your in large countrys like England). Below I have made a list of every country but for people who can't open hide tags its most of the countrys in europe.

[hide]

United Kingdom. (Inc. Scotland, Ireland)

Spain.

Portugal.

France.

Belgium.

The Netherlands.

Germany.

Switzerland.

Italy.

Sicily.

Czechoslovakia.

Greece.

Macedonia.

Serbia.

Bosnia and Herzgovnia.

Slovenia

Hungary

Half of Romania.

Half of Ukraine.

Half of Belarus.

A bit of Russia.

A bit of Finland.

Sweden.

Denmark.

[/hide]

All these countrys will have an average of three castles on or more depending on size.

Anyway, I'm going to need some country grabbing so that I can add castles, I'm also hugely open to suggestions.

EDIT: As usual I will take the netherlands (do historical defenses still work in game (ie the dutch water lines)?)

If they do not; Dibs on the UK

LNYvk.png

I'll take UK.

Son of a [bleep]. Spain I guess.

No sorry, lets just imagine that all there is at the moment is castles, farms and mines. If I was to include historical defences it would be hard to keep track of every single one however you can add them later if you want.

Because the UK is being shared who wants what?

Edit: Sorry, Trol - I just skimmed and heard UK.

[Falador tavern]

Well then the netherlands is kinda [bleep]ed. (An idea for historical defenses is that you let people read up a bit on their country of choice and PM you the defenses [totally optional of course] so those who decided not to take the time cannot [bleep] later on)

I would rather not because it also detriments the idea of a fair start and to my knowledge no other country has any really good defences.

Netherlands (as a small coastal country) will have the distinct advantage of owning a dock at the start of the game while other people will have to conquer other castles to get a dock.

Awknowledged, Rocco.

You get the nice chocolate bonus, as Spain gets the sangria bonus while England gets the [cabbage] weather bonus.

Now, this is a double post but I'd also like to bump it to show that their is new news.

I was hoping to implant a religious system, at first I thought conquering chuches would be the right thing to do but I'm not sure if simply conquering churches and getting a new currency would be so great, I think their should be something a lot more interesting that would allow the moderator (me) to control churches and let churches do different things, anyway I have no idea what to do? Has anyone got any idea's of what to do with Religion/Churches, therecould be some great gameplay.

If I were to give all units a value out of ten does anyone know the sum that would work who would win in a battle?

[Falador tavern]

Edel, that sorta defeats the tactical element of a small-scale game, to have unit values like that, unless there were other things.

If Sicily starts with a port, then I'll be Sicily.

Master of your domain? I am Lord of the manor, Queen of the castle, King of the county!

Former moderator of the original Dungeoneering

Former moderator of Ye Olde Hegemony

Moderator of the remake of Dungeoneering

Former Empress of the Lichten Empire (Hegemony)

Former President of the United States (Hegemony)

Former Emporer of Imperial Japan (Hegemony)

Czarina Catherine of Imperial Russia (Hegemony

The only difference between a disagreement between friends, an argument between strangers, and a feud between enemies is the ability to reconcile.

I was planning on managing each different group of people as a different battle, a 1 unit can beat a 10 unit with the right tactics but in a one on one battle ten would always win. I was thinking of using a system much like Dustys Rock-Paper-Scissors with Cavalry, beating Infantry but Infantry beating Archers who beat Cavalry.

And yes, Sicily will definately have a port.

[Falador tavern]

France please.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Ok added.

Map so far:

gameworldv3.png

As you can see its ever so nearly completed, I just need to colour in a couple of islands, add some tree's and than finally add the castles, the castles and tree's are just a copypasta job though.

Edit: And add the top of Africa (Morroco)

[Falador tavern]

I shalt take the land of the Swedes! That's southern Norway and Sweden.

Can I use natural formations like rivers?

Also my bonus effect +lumber, +defences against lowlanders and +defences against southerners during winter?

Because each person is only starting off with one castle each your going to have to choose southern norway or sweden.

If its not on the map you can't use it, whatever it is; its just a bit too much confusion. Your bonus's will be snow and having a dock.

[Falador tavern]

Well, the Drammensriver had a large industrial impact, though it's too small to see. And southern Norway then.

The Drammensriver was used for floating large amounts of wood, and currently houses both a celulosis plant, Norway's largest car transport harbour and the world's only osmotic powerplant.

Mather, the game works like a civilisation game, once a mine is owned the resources are saved and kept.

The map has been completed in every sense apart from the castles, farms, docks and mines. Before I finalise the map.

Cavalry - 1g, 1f

Infantry - 1g, 1f

Archers - 1g, 1f

Chariot - 2g, 2f

[insert name here] - 2g, 2f

Crossbowman - 2g, 2f

Destroyer style ship - 10g, 10f, 10w

Their are more coming.

Grimdeath - Uk

Trol - Spain

Rocco - Switzerland

Retech - Bottom of italy, Sicily not added due to human error.

Icu - Cool colour , France.
