Modern Warfare

Some people take modship as a chance to play God...Those people shouldn't be mods because they don't understand that they have a duty to the players not to act like a jerk or to pander...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

The way I was going to mod this was by playing as the enemy whenever you had battles, and overlooking battles between players. I'd also keep a stream of news coming in as there were wars going on at the time.

I think what really is pushing people away is the setting, people just don't seem to enjoy modern set games and love fantasy set games, such as zombies, historic, space and such.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

i actually like this type of game. more rough and tumble, realistic nitty gritty than fantasy.

Reigan: NO MOOSE CAN SAVE US NOW; ...Had that been taken out of context, it would have been comical... Right now, it's terrifying.

Tomorrow I will hold a few practice battles, if you're interested PM me, if I don't get enough people then I will probably cancel.

What I would do is assign people as defenders or attackers, put a research base or a government building or something like that on the map...and then the attackers have to defeat the defenders...and visa versa.

You would have special forces, which cost alot, have extra action points, specialist weapons and some gadgetry(2 turn cloaks, bullet shields and such)...and ordinary forces, which are cheap, have normal action points, more generalised weapons and basic gadgets(grenades, laser sights and such)

The defenders can buy machine gun posts, AA guns, mines and other such stuff to deploy before the battle and the attackers can buy paratroops, missile attacks and recon planes(Both sides could use both I guess) which could be deployed during the battle.

Winning generates Progress Points which you can use to buy new technology, or improve existing technology.

Since the game is scenario based, rather than campaign based, it would be difficult for someone to be unbeatable.

I would probably limit the max number of troops to 35 normal troops or 7 special forces(1 special = 5 normal)...just to stop the game getting boring, or people zerging.

So two of the special forces would be miners, one would be a woodcutter and mechanic, one would be a carpenter and fisher, one would be a mason and building designer, one would be a farmer and brewer, and the last would be a doctor and the leader?
