Soul Wars: how does one deal with mages?

Featured Replies

So, I've been lurking on the forums for probably 2-3 years now, and haven't ever posted a question, so here it goes...

My combat stats (including range/mage) are decent, but every time I play Soul Wars, I get owned, mostly by mages. WHY??? I guess I'm missing something, because people still hit me through prayers/curses.

Any thoughts?

are we talking the graveyard barragers? seercull obviously if you think that'll knock down their mage level enough... bring karils, dhide, or arma. z spear can work well if they are being piled and depending on ss/ blood barrage to survive

Well, your defense and magic levels are kind of low, so unless you've pro gear, you're pretty much a goner. But even with good gear, your levels just wont stand up to a maxed mage.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Yeah....that's kind of what I figured. :-P Too bad I don't have enough spare time to get those stats up!

Wear range armor, pray magic, and Seercull the hell out of them. They don't name the bow "Mage Killer" for nothing, you know :)

That's actually the best solution. If you killed the mage, he would just come back in a few minutes. However, knocking down his magic level ensures he will not bother you unless he's smart enough to bring Restore Potions. Of course, he may end up dying later after you lower his magic level, but that's enough time to get yourself lost :P

I gave the Seercull thing a try, and it seemed to work fairly well. Of course, the same people run back to the same spot over and over, but at least it distracted them. :)

Eh... You have to be about as good as they are to have a chance...

O.O

Full arma, rune cbow, and smite (since you can't use ss). Most don't bring p pots.

pro gear, basically.

Personally, I have a lot of fun with Magers. I simply throw on my Karils, and sick my Steel Titan on them.

For you, range gear and Seercull is your best bet.
