DarkerFalz
Which rewards should I get?I know a cls/cr/cm, the scroll of life, the bone crusher, the gem bag/coal bag, the totem, and an arcane stream. However, are the two prayers, the tome of frost, the mercenary's gloves, and the different shields worth the cost? I'm assuming the longbow sight, the gravite weaps (debatable, I could use in f2p if I went somewhere with a friend), the lower arcane's, and the nature and law staves are not good at all. My friend says to get the chaotic long because the rapier looks like a toothpick, and they hit around the same anyways. Is he right, to get the long? I'm not much for bosses, but that's because I can't get to any yet. So, in your opinion (no hating on others because they say something else) which is better? EDIT: I did read this, but I'm still confused as to which one to choose. :P
Big_Stingman
Yeah you pretty much got that right. The Tome of Frost is worth it if you don't really have anything else to get and mage a lot. Unlimited waters plus a huge +10 magic bonus is pretty good. No to gravite, longbow, lower arcanes, and nature/law staves. I would get the long because it is more powerful, not because the rapier looks like a toothpick. Just my opinion. I do believe there is another topic around here debating that, and many people say the Rapier is in fact better do to its speed.

But, it also looks like the long is good for bosses, so I dunno which to get still.
SirIzenhime
Unless you literally ONLY do Bandos, get the Rapier. The totem is decent, but don't get it firstdon't get mercenary glovesunless you plan on barraging a lot anytime soon, don't get the tome of frostI don't think the shields are worth it since they'll only reduce damage on hits over 200, and even then, it doesn't always do it the amount it's supposed to. They also degrade faster since it's both time in combat and damage taken that degrades it. I'd get the Rapier, Arcane stream, scroll of life and gem bag, then wait for the update this month to see if there's any good rewards. Cactuaar
I would say rapier because it would help you to train your stats up for bosses, and a rapier is still a very good weapon for bosses, losing to CLS at Bandos and Saradomin GWD, and TDs as well without good and quick switching. Get the scroll of life if you farm a lot, or just do herb runs, as it will quickly add up and save you millions in the long run. Don't even consider the bone crusher; it costs far too much in tokens and it will hardly help. If you can kill 300 normal bone monsters in an hour, thats under 1.5k prayer exp I believe. Around 6 dragon bones at a gilded altar will give that much, in under 20 seconds. I would never consider getting one, as it is so useless and expensive, unless you have no desire at all for other items. The gem and coal bag, totem, and arcane stream all depend on what you like to do. If you do combat magic a lot, the arcane stream for sure. If you smelt or mine with coal, the coal bag. Gem bag for whatever needs a lot of gems. The totem could be useful for stuff like pyramid plunder and Zamorak GWD I suppose, but I would rather use a better shield with antipoison ++s instead. The two new prayers, I personally wouldn't get them since I'm on curses, but I guess the healing one may be useful, but I probably wouldn't get it unless you don't plan on getting 95 prayer. Also, over 100k tokens is very unappealing, so I would only consider it after getting stuff like chaotic weapons. Tome of frost; depends if you do stuff like ice burst or barrage a lot or something, but at 43k tokens, I would rather just pay extra for water runes. Mercenary gloves; useless, use barrow gloves. The new shields may be useful I suppose, though elysian and divine shields are better, but out of reach for many players. Depends on what you like to do, but I would prefer the weapons over shields. DarkerFalz
I'll probably get a rapier myself. Also, is a maul worth it at all? I don't do much in the way of bosses yet (only 107+8 combat) and I don't camp waterfiends for hours upon end.
Obtaurian
The totem looks pretty attractive for playing Pyramid Plunder. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
Ddude42
Although I'm still quite a ways from 80 dungeoneering, I plan on purchasing a Gem bag, Arcane stream necklace, Scroll of life, followed by a Chaotic rapier and eventually a Chaotic maul. The Chaotic longsword is a good general purpose weapon, but the Rapier is better than the CLS for everything besides Solo bandos and Sara GWD, and the Maul is better than the CLS for Sara GWD.
