Another Jad Thread

Alright, so I'm nearing 93 slayer and still haven't gotten my fire cape, so I decided to upgrade my latest TzHaar task and try and go for it. Before I do though I do need some help and training, because I never fight bosses and have only done fight caves once for the Karamja diary (Brought just an invy full of sharks, killed Ket and then promptly died).

1. Don't link me to Muggi's guide, believe me that I'll be reading it religiously over the next few days.

2. I know that there was a guide to prayer switching (The part I'm most concerned about) with an accompanying yt video so you can practice, what was it called/where is it? EDIT: Found it, but if there are any other good yt videos I should know about, please inform me.

3. Would doing some TDs help me to prayer switch well under pressure? I've never been, but I can probably find some friends to put up with my noobiness (If someone on here would like to take me too, that'd be sweet).

4. For armor, I have full arma, ranger boots, fury, DFS (Can buy a BSS if that'd be a good substitute), and enough spare cash to buy a barrows top or bottom if it'd help. Basically should I be focusing on range attack or all-around defense?

5. What do I do about the healers? Whenever I read a thread on here it seems everyone trips up when they come out because they seem to act differently for everyone. Do I kill them? Do I lure them? How far away do I have to lure them? What if they're caught on a corner and can't seem to get to them? If I lure them and they are attacking me, how much damage to they cause?

Thanks for the help as always <3: .

I'd say TD's could be fairly helpful ; another thing, make sure your prayer bonus is high. Er, watch youtube videos I guess, just search...consider veracs skirt for the defence/prayer bonus, and depending on your ammunition (i.e. say crystal bow or broad bolts) you may want to take nomads cape over an accumulator.

When I dealt with the healers I ended up tanking two of them; if you do this, you need to make sure your fairly far from Jad or they still heal him. Tanking is definitely not the best strategy (those healers hurt, I swear I killed Jad with 50/80ish range 'cause of brews) but it can be the easiest.

I'm no expert on this though.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

V skirt + all max range gear (fsh of course) and use dfs or bss, what you like. Use a sw cape with broad bolts, diamonds for Jad. You can also bring claws and rush Jad (with turm/piety) when he's at low health to prevent more switching.

If you have 90+ def, arma skirt + dfs should do for tanking.

Do you think I could kill him with 2 claw specs when the healers come out? Or do I have to deal with them and get him lower before I can claw?

Personally I don't think TDs helped much in helping me calm down in the face of Jad. I still panicked on my first try yesterday when I got the task, despite killing TDs for some time. The crux to winning Jad is just to remain calm. And since you mentioned that you got them as a task, you might want to use the

setup I used yesterday; it really helped the waves go by faster by ranged. I stuck with Full slayer helm, arma plate, V skirt, and SW cape. With that setup I used I used about 4 super restores before I reached Jad, but I still lost to him nonetheless since I couldn't keep calm through the fight. But fret not though,

should you fail on that try, don't be afraid to do it again. I did it immediately again on my friend's advice, and I killed Jad on my second try

And as for the healers, you might really want to stick to Muggi's guide for the healers, I did exactly what was on the guide and lured the healers to me on the fight; after you manage to lure all the healers onto you do take note to make sure that only 1 healer is attacking you at any time, unless you're pretty confident of tanking them all along with a careless mistake in switching to the wrong prayer. Otherwise just continue the fight as per normal, regularly switching your prayer and continuing your attack on Jad. You'll get your cape eventually.

I don't have a clue... Jad has 2550 lp so you need about 650 damage per spec to kill him from half health.

That reminds me, you could melee the caves with whip + defender (rapier > whip of course), using either sidestepping or ranged gear to do the 360's (and simply out-damaging the 180's). You could melee Jad (pray range and switch prayers if you see a melee attack) and possibly out-damage the healers, which is less of a distraction.
