  1. This is one of the most epic stuff I've ever seen in the whole of my rs time.. (Hint: look at the ranger) [hide] [/hide]
  2. Personally I don't think TDs helped much in helping me calm down in the face of Jad. I still panicked on my first try yesterday when I got the task, despite killing TDs for some time. The crux to winning Jad is just to remain calm. And since you mentioned that you got them as a task, you might want to use the setup I used yesterday; it really helped the waves go by faster by ranged. I stuck with Full slayer helm, arma plate, V skirt, and SW cape. With that setup I used I used about 4 super restores before I reached Jad, but I still lost to him nonetheless since I couldn't keep calm through the fight. But fret not though, should you fail on that try, don't be afraid to do it again. I did it immediately again on my friend's advice, and I killed Jad on my second try  And as for the healers, you might really want to stick to Muggi's guide for the healers, I did exactly what was on the guide and lured the healers to me on the fight; after you manage to lure all the healers onto you do take note to make sure that only 1 healer is attacking you at any time, unless you're pretty confident of tanking them all along with a careless mistake in switching to the wrong prayer. Otherwise just continue the fight as per normal, regularly switching your prayer and continuing your attack on Jad. You'll get your cape eventually.
  3. If it is like what you mentioned in your last post that you were mostly going to use it at TDs, stick to CLS. I've personally used it at TDs and I can say it definitely would be better than rapier, provided you know how to switch quickly. CLS usually has little problems with striking the TDs. But on a final note, get CLS only if you intend to mostly solo bosses like Graardor or TDs, if not you should be better off with a rapier.
  4. Finally got it after smelting for ages.. But oh well, I got the level off assist system [hide] [/hide]
  5. Crash's set-up is pretty good for your levels, and to top off what he raised earlier, go with the LBS rather than D Scim. Somehow the dragons are weaker to stab rather than slash/crush from what I noticed.
  6. First off, I'd recommend that you use a shield only if you intend to use a one handed melee weapon, with which you should look nowhere else other than chaotic weapons. As for special attacks, I went for a potentially faster kill with claws, but from what I remembered they sped up the kill slightly. And as for ranged, the use of it is not really necessary, but it really helps if you are frozen and wish to get a few hits in. Personally when I went for my kill I went purely with melee, and that said I used only black hide; Barrows is not worth the risk if you end up risking a death, which the repair cost will add up. As for familiars, I'd recommend that you use a tortoise to carry additional brews along with a kyatt pouch if you want to. I happen to have the link to a guide for Nomad from RSOF, and it happened to be the one I used for Nomad, you might want to take a look. Good luck. ;) RSOF link
  7. Personally I don't really understand why there is a social stigma with some skillcapes just because they're more easily attained than other skillcapes. Any skillcape requires a great deal of patience and commitment to achieve, and anyone who owns a skillcape would remember how they trained away at the skill just to earn the coveted cape. Another thing that you mentioned was that people without skillcapes despising others for owning a "noob" skillcape. Personally I am not really bothered with them; they have not experienced the process of working towards a skillcape, and think it's an easy achievement to attain. They probably will know it when they actually embark on the road to the skillcape of their dreams. And up till now I still remember how I grinded away everyday at my altar just to work at my prayer cape. The memories of the process will probably be with me for some time, but the sense of achievement is there. :)
  8. Tbh, the rapier completely destroys miths and KBD. And on most other tasks you'll be 2-3 hitting just about every monster... LS might be better for bosses though, and I've only tested rapier at sara GWD (it sucked), so I can't really say much about that. Hmm I've yet to really witness that.. I might test with a rapier after I get my chaotic shield I suppose :P Edit: Was it with a rune defender or was it with just a DFS alone? I'm pretty interested to find out if rapier + DFS is sufficient for Miths.
  9. Personally I'm not sure if it actually resets the timer, but I'll relate an experience I had when I changed my bank pin somewhere back. I actually kept keying in the old pin which I had used, forgetting that I changed it the day before. What I noticed was whenever you fail to key in the correct pin, a timer will be in place to keep you from trying to key in a pin to unlock the bank, and the timer will *increase* with every failed attempt. I actually hit a timer of 30 minutes with my failed attempts, and then face-palming myself for forgetting that I changed my pin the day before.
  10. The choice of weapon to get actually depends on what you want in my opinion. If you opt for speed, rapier is the way to go. I chose to go for higher accuracy rather than speed, so I went for the longsword. As for maul, I can safely say that it's not suited for slayer, but it'll be good in PvP situations. But I'll say that the main reason why I chose the longsword over the rapier was that I took into consideration Mithril Dragon tasks from the masters, and I'll gladly use a defender along with super antifires, so the higher stab accuracy meant a slight difference for me, but likewise rapier is in a way faster than the longsword, just that it's not as accurate compared to the longsword. So to sum it up, it's more of a choice of a higher accuracy or higher speed for you.
  11. Well to start off with your question, looking at your current slayer level reminds me of the slayer level I stopped at when I quit RS sometime back ago. When I got back, my bank was literally empty; since I gave everything away before I left the game, so the first thing I thought of was, "I'll get 85 slayer for the free whips and to get some profit out of slayer." True enough, on the way to 85 slayer I've earned quite a sum from the skill itself, as well as a few summoning levels. The main reason I find it fun is that I know I won't be training just my combat skills when I slay - I'll get a few charms, herbs, and a variety of loot depending on the monster I'm slaying at the moment, and I always liked that fact. But the only turn off I've really encountered in the skill back then was two or even three similar tasks in a row, which was kind of a turn off. But as for now, I'm enjoying almost every task that I get from the slayer masters, and probably loving (or cursing) at the rewards I get from the clue scrolls which I pick up along the task.
  12. If I'm not mistaken it should be due to the new PvP update which removed most boss drops from the list of items dropped. Mud battlestaff is a drop from dagganoth kings but was on the drop list for PvP, and if I'm not mistaken it's been removed from the drop list, causing that little craze over items that are not dropped in PvP anymore.
  13. You might want to work on While Guthix Sleeps. Pretty interesting storyline and neat rewards as well. :) Edit: I have not much opinions on skills though, I work pretty much on everything. :P
  14. I think you might want to cash in on the little profit there before it drops. ;) The last time I remembered training strength when I was still on the way to 99, I stuck all the way with a Dragon Scimitar and a Rune Defender, they're way better than SS in my opinion. :)
