Quick question

Specs:

OS: Vista Home Premium SP1

RAM: 2 GB

Processor: Amd Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (Dual-core)

The idling temperature (when CPU is at like 1-3%..) Speedfan says the temperature is around 25°C. Then when the CPU usage spikes to 100% (when I play a game or something else that requires CPU usage) the temperature goes up to 63°C-65°C.

Is this a problem that I should be concerned about or is it perfectly normal and I'm just being paranoid?

Normal.

A little bit high temperature for 100% load. Two ideas: Buy a can of compressed air and blow the dust out of your fans and the case (obviously hoover the floor afterwards), 2, if you know how to, you could also apply some new thermal paste if that hasn't been done in a while.

And of course, the temperature depends on where your room is (i.e. sun-side) and if it's hot weather atm etc etc.

I've had an AthlonX2 4600+, and at those high temperatures it was already losing some performance, I believe it could be the case with this one too as it's not too far from being the same specs. I would go with OldJoe's advice.

65 degrees Celsius is perfectly normal for a computer CPU. Most have thermal limits of around 90 to 100 degrees Celsius before their thermal protection system activates and shuts the component off, so you are well within normal operating parameters.

Even if it does get that hot, it's not a major concern as others have said.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.
