Dungeoneering: What to Bind?

Recommended Posts

Okay, I can now bind a 2nd item. What should I bind?

I have a Gorgonite Longsword.

Was planning on taking a Gorgonite Platebody, but I heard Shadow Silk Hood from Night Spiders is also a very good drop.

And should I change my weapon or is Longsword with Shield powerfull enough?

Even though it does have limited protection, shadow silk hood is useful to bind. At least you don't have to worry about warriors, rangers, and undead anymore.

Armor is overrated imo. It's useful, but not really worth binding.

Also if you come across a gorgonite 2h, bind that instead. But gorg longsword is not bad either.

I'd go with plate + rapier or long or baxe or 2h then alch the plate and bind a hood when you find one. The advantage of 1h weapons is that you can use the tank class which is ocasionally useful. The shop sells novite shields and monsters drop antifire shields very often.

It's generally accepted that the best items to bind are:

First Bind: Primal Battleaxe, otherwise, your BEST 2h (if you use the Berserker Class Ring) or Best Spear (if you don't). 2H is by far the superior option, esp. if you have a Shadow Hood

Second Bind: Shadow Silk Hood, if you do not have it, then your best Platebody OR your best leatherbody

Third Bind: Blood Necklace, if you do not have it, then your best Platebody OR your best leatherbody, if you have those bound already, then best platelegs OR best leatherchaps

ALWAYS try to have Saggitarrian Arrows bound. You can alch each for 3k, which is immensely helpful. Otherwise, bind Promethium. If you can't get those, just bind the best arrows you can use or blood runes.

As far as using Tank Class Ring goes, only the Keyer needs to use that, since you ONLY need it for when you run in and open a door. When you run in and open a door, you aren't killing anything are you? So grab any old Anti-Dragon or Novite shield, activate Tank, run through, unlock the door, get to safety, and switch back to 2H/spear + Berserker.

I also recommend a few of the Skiller Rings for Skill Doors/Skilling and Desperado for bosses that you must range (Necrolord, Lexicus Runewright, etc.) for effectiveness.

Oops, forgot about that, you're right.

I usually solo dungeons.

So I think I should bind the following:

1: Highest-grade Battle-axe wieldable (for Shield + Tank ring)

2: Shadow Silk Hood

3: Blood Necklace

Arrows are already bound, runes won't be a problem to obtain when needed.

Generally the berserker class is better than the tank class UNLESS you are running keys for a large 5:5 dungeon. Otherwise, dealing damage more quickly saves the same amount of food as taking less damage while killing more slowly and it saves time on top of that.

So I would use the berserker class and bind either a prom 2h or a primal baxe (not sure which is better with berserker, perhaps someone else can back a claim up with evidence/experience).

A shadow silk hood is quite a rare drop, don't count on finding one right away. It is definitely the best second item to bind, but until you get it you should bind the best platebody you can wear.

You can only use up to gorgonite, so go with a 2h/spear. If you really don't want to take damage, that is what protection prayers are for.

If you're really leaned toward using tank, a gorg longsword/baxe is fine enough.
