Barrelchest

[Sheep Tails]

I keep (nearly) dying everytime I try to defeat Barrelchest. With these stats, is there any way for me to do so? (It seems to me that the safespot doesn't work because he instantly starts following me..)

 

61 Attack

62 Strength

59 Defence

60 Ranged

52 Prayer

66 Magic

 

Also, can familiars help? I have 52 Summoning and was wondering..

Are you using super sets and boost prayers? You should.

I've tried, but he just hits right through everything. And I've tried protect from melee, although that had me drinking a prayer pot every two turns or so. However, perhaps I'll try again.

You need to get 60 defence and use dragon skirt, d med or zerker helm, granite pl8, obsidian cape and obsidian shield.

59 defence is a major setback, using a combo of granite dragon and obsidian will last you a lot longer fighting rather than rune and granite. Other than that make sure you are using a Dds to poison and for specs and a d long or scim as your main weapon. Protect melle, use prayer pots super sets and monkfish and you should do good.

Don't pray attack str or defence, it drains your prayer extremely fast and you won't have enough food is you use that many prayer pots.

With 52 summoning you should bring a terrorbird full of roctails. Get 60 defence and a dragon skirt, borrow a dragon platebody if you can (or maybe a fury). Bring one super attack/strenght/defence, 2 prayer potions, a dds for the special and the rest rocktail. That should be plenty overkill but you might as well get it good.
