If you don't want people to "rain on your parade", then you should stop trying to convince them that "lol 99 fletch isn't half bad why won't you listen". You like to grind excessively? Fine with me. But don't expect people to love your achievement as much as you love it.

Forums are for voicing your opinion, and my opinion is that 99 fletching sucks :thumbup:

These are all prestigious skills that you have not considered, that are all considered great achievements. The reason why cooking/fletching/firemaking/wc/basic combat skiills aren't respected as much is because they are easier, plain and simple

 

Just because you are defensive of first 99s doesn't mean you can make sweeping generalizations that make you look like a [bleep].

 

I had 99 strength as my first 99, and you know what I did? I didn't post. Because I'm not arrogant, and because I didn't want to get flamed for being arrogant when I had no right to be.

 

This. In my book, 99 runecrafting, agility, mining, dungeoneering, farming, summoning, herblore, prayer, and slayer are all automatic 10/10s. 99 construction, crafting, and smithing are 8/10s. I also rate 99 ranged and magic pretty high because they're useful and kind of expensive.

 

I think it's somewhat untrue that Rate This! is just for friends. I posted my first 99 (constitution) there, and I got a lot of positive feedback from people I didn't know, and most of the people posting positive feedback were also posting realistic ratings. I got things like "6/10 - good first to have, what's next?" which I think is pretty reasonable. The same thing happened when I maxed melee and posted there.

 

I think the only people who believe Rate This! to be a cesspool for trolls are the people who post 99 fletching/cooking and get defensive when people rate it low. There's nothing wrong with sharing your achievement (unless it's less than 99 in an easy skill), just don't get defensive if not everyone likes it as much as you.

99 fletching isn't a virus or disease, but nor is it an achievement. Suck it up
