Extremly low detail

Recommended Posts

Today, I accidentally clicked on the world map icon while playing, but managed to click on the ground right after that.

So the world map kind of like started loading, but normal game play went on.

Expect for one thing, the graphics was all messed up. The colors... The ground was only like 2 different colors, you could almost see the squares. It was like RS2 beta once again.

And I loved it. Because my laptop is a not very powerful, and I experienced almost none lagg. The "loading, please wait" screen was also almost non-existent...

So, my question is:

Is there a way to play Runescape is extremely low detail? I tried to reproduce the graphics glitch but it didn't work...

Thanks.

"Safe Mode" is the lowest graphical setting you can get and it can be selected from the Graphical Display settings. Produces very little lag on most computers. Hope this helps!

I have a problem with my laptop's fan and my laptop will overheat after 2-3 mins of playing in HD so i play in lowest details mode possible (aka safe mode and everything off). Though i was wondering if it would be better to play with CPU usage @ Max or min. Which would be best to be able to play as long as possible without laptop overheating/lagging?

I would guess that min CPU usage would help most with the overheating issue, since it means it won't be working the CPU as hard. This might cause some lag though, so you'd have to strike a balance.

is safe mode the same as min? because I have that on and I still cannot see each square

No. You have to go to 'custom' and then select safe mode from there.
