Rinoa437
Up until now I haven't really used Magic for combat, I've gotten most of my levels through non-combat magic and the circus. I want to be able to use magic in combat situations, but I have no clue what equipment I should be using. At this point I have Slayer Staff+magic dart runes and SC robes. If you can, list the best set-up for my levels and a cheaper set-up that still has good stats. STATS[hide][/hide]
Hegelstad
Before you should even start, get 75 magic by alching or whatever. It won't take too long. Then get a Staff of Light, its kinda a necessity for combat magic nowadays, mostly since it has good stats, and saves quite some runes. Robes doesnt matter that much, if you can afford Battle Robes, they will save you alot of runes in the long go, else Ahrims robes are good, and mystic aswell. What spell to cast depends on what youre killing though. So i don't have any tips on that part. Good luck :) My lame drops:6 Effigys1 D Med - 1 D Dagger1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody
SirIzenhime
Assuming you're NOT doing slayer... Battle Hood > Ahrims Hood > Mystic hatsArcane Stream > Fury > Glory > Magic(forget the other arcane necklaces, it would be a waste to get them)Battle top > Ahrims Body > MysticBattle robe bottom > Ahrims skirt > Mystic bottomsInfinity boots > Mystic bootsGod cape/soul wars cape(if praying)Staff of Light > Master wand > Ancient staff > Elemental staffRFD barrows gloves > infinity gloves > Mystic glovesArcane spirit shield > Mage's book > tome of frost > Unholy bookSeers(i) > Seers ring > Becon ring(I think...?) > Explorers ring if you're doing slayer, replace hoods with a FSH/hexcrest, and also note that battle robes won't save nearly as many runes without the hood, so ahrims might be a more efficient piece. Quyneax
I'd add that battle robes are only worth it as a set, and only worth it if you're not too rich. They do not save enough for the time it takes to charge them to make them highly efficient. Knight_Zaros
Not sure why anyone uses ahrims hood, farseers helm is better same attack bonus and no degrade... also combat spell really matters on what your killing but if you have sol and brobes I would definitly use the highest spell you can, time is money too!
