Has anyone ever mapped "aggression zones"

Featured Replies

I noticed this again the other day...I was meleeing black demons and they stopped being aggressive. Then I ran across the room to attack another one and they became aggressive again. This has happened with a lot of different monsters.

So I started wondering if anyone had ever mapped out these "aggression zones." It would be helpful, imho, to know where those zones are -- especially for certain slayer tasks.

General rule is they are aggressive as far as a map load point.

Granted map squares do overlap, so once you've hit that load point once it might not be there again.

There's always the whole "monsters become unagressive after a while" thing. Running away from them and returning fixes it.

Or are you wondering how far you'd have to run?

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

I'm wondering where I need to stay if I do not want the monsters to be aggressive again.

Your best bet is not straying from the area your in o_o

But to answer your question, I don't think anyone has ever mapped it. Probably too many variables.

I believe the aggressive area is (almost) the same as the wander area of the monsters..

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

I like to keep things like hellhounds, greater demons, dagganoths and similar monsters aggressive all the time. It seems like every time I need to walk away to keep them aggressive I have to walk further than the last time.

My guess is that it does have to do with a map load point, and as you wander around an area the maps get cached so they don't need to load as often.

So the "aggression zones" are not fixed. That explains a lot.
