CLS or CStaff

Getting my fourth chaotic (I have maul, rapier, and cbow). Should I get cstaff or CLS?

honestly I'd save for for the final dungeoneering batch

it was 4 months between batch 1 and occult.

another 4 month wait would put the final batch at around christmas.

I don't see why I would ever use rigour, outside of arma (and I don't do arma)

I think those are both horrible ideas. Personally, I'd get the C-staff.

Rigour for frosts, cstaff for dk's and cls for bandos, pick your poison(i don't see CLS having a significant advantage over rapier at TD's with titan).

Since when is it better to range frosts?

like i said, i never really use range in an environment where rigour makes sense. I dk's and hybrid pvp.

It really depends on what you consider better. For me, if you factor in enjoyability, it is more efficient. In any case, range gets 98% of the kills you would get with melee, costs 300k more an hour and is ALOT less click heavy(the thing most people don't like about frost dragons).

 

In a purely gp/xp/h scale, you are right, it's not.

Any numerical proof of this sucking? as in how many kills less an hour or...? Because, as far as i can tell(and i've only tried rapier), it's great(with defender).

No literal "numerical proof", i'm just saying it's bad cause it's just really annoying to use. you don't hit over 300 as often so it's a lot more annoying to time titan specs. Not everything has to be numerical :P

 

but on a rough estimate, i get ~25-30 kills a trip with maul and ~22-27 with rapier. (1 trip = 40 mins)

 

with maul, it's a lot easier: if i see X amount of xp on my xp bar, I instantly click titan spec; with rapier, I have to deal with the hassle of adding hits.

Umm...why not stick to the maul then? Obviously this is just a case of enjoyability(or bear-ability, which ever you like), just like ranging frost dragons.

 

If you really don't plan on any ranging, staff should be the best bet.

CLS is mainly for pvp, and for td's I'm hoping it's slightly better than maul. maul feels slow; cls is the right balance between being able to hit consistently and speed

Get CLS. CStaff is only good at DKs and it's a little much risk there when one click can make you rage.

Don't forget pvp- magic almost has KO power with ice barrage+ all boosts, a combo of rapier and maul will cover everything in terms of melee pvp(hogh def- maul, low def/tanking- rapier).

I know you're into safe PVP, so I say get the staff. Maul and rapier seem to cover pretty much everything you do as far as MHing, and you don't have a divine, so I can't see the CLS being particularly useful for you.

 

But I would have to agree with Grimy Bunyip: you should just save for warped floors.
