Can you link me to some site that is keeping track of effigy drop rates?

Featured Replies

Like for instance maybe it'll say that 500 out of 200,000 dark beasts killed so far have dropped effigies which means an average of 1 in 400 dark beasts drop an effigy.

As the poster says, it's not really a large enough sample size to be accurate, but... http://runescapereader.blogspot.com/2010/08/ancient-effigy-drop-rates.html

I saw the same data log in dunou's effigy thread in the distractions and divergences section of the RSOF, if you want it straight from the horse's mouth.

and I don't think it's only on the maxed forums.

Lagota Pro's 200M slayer xp log is also very good, not as large as the former though.

What we need to do is extend an RSS feed of adventurer logs being compiled to include effigies. Since we know the approximate droprates of the main drops of many monsters, we can figure out the effigy droprate from ratios.

Eg there were 1323 whip drop entries and 637 effigy drop entries for Abyssal Demons. Knowing that an Abyssal Whip is dropped every 512 demons on average, we can say that the approximate droprate of an effigy from abbies is 1:1000-1100.

Staff of light was said to have the same droprate as a whip, and I suspect Dark Bows share the rate even though a Jmod has never confirmed those. However, that's 3 slayer monsters right there.

Monsters like dragons that don't have a lot of drops go on A-log and whose droprates are quite unknown will be harder.

Speaking of effigies, I just got another one from Gargoyles. According to my personal log I just started, I've gotten 1 effigy per 224 Gargoyles lol. That's a lot better than 1 per 1,109 Gargoyles on this post but I'm sure I'm just getting lucky.

Here's the link to my log (it's a google doc spreadsheet): https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AvcoIS071M0MdFlqVkl5NWZiTTFYVzFQdlc5NkI2eUE&hl=en

I could make it make it editable so people could add in their own stuff maybe.

@jettrider Your plan sounds really complicated. I like it lol.
