Scabarite Slayer Task

Can anybody give me some tips for dealing with Scabarites or point me to a guide with tips for individual slayer tasks? I seem to remember having bad things happen to me last time I fought Scabarites, so I'm hesitant to try again without asking advice first.

P2P forever!... Or at least 'til <insert excuse here> happens

It's easiest to fight the little scarab thingies in the hidden tunnel in that pyramid thing south of Uzer.

Man I can't remember the name of anything in the desert, hopefully you know what I'm talking about?

The BEST way to kill Scarabites is to cannon them in the Contact Dungeon. Go into the Catacombs and into one of the side-rooms (the exact directions are in Zarfot's guide). Set up your cannon in the middle of the room, pray RANGE (meleers don't hit you too much and the mages are extremely weak) and bring a tinderbox (to relight your light source if the mages put it out).

This will result in some of the fastest slayer xp/hr and is it THE fastest task in the game, with standard tasks typically taking no longer than 6-8 minutes.

But they will hit you like crazy.

The seers' headband doesn't go out, and you don't have to wear it to benefit from the light, so I highly recommend it over any lantern + tinderbox. You may also want to bring some antipoison (a few doses should be enough). These also drop far more charms than other options.

One dose of antipoison is enough. You won't last long enough to necessitate another if you use a super anti or better. If you use better than a super anti, you could even drink it in the bank if you can get there fast enough.

And yes, scarabites are fantastic crimson charms. Roughly comparable to waterfiends.

Be sure to bring a combat familiar to maximize your xp.
