Im trying to get a few hundred phoenix feathers for herblore and when i try and grab them from the phoenix it lets me grab the first one but after that it says i alerady have a phoenix tail feather so i can't grab another. whats the way around this?

are you sure you doing the desert pheonix feathers not the one you can do everyday?

 

if you are dont worry i made that mistake but they sell in ge for a decent price

yea im pretty sure im doing the right one, the one just outside the eagles cave? and the feather ive got is untradable

Have you done Golem Quest ?

no i havent :o. is that what i have to do?

I know only that you need it during this quest, and later purpose is ability to use feather for potions - so no problem to get full backpack quick via thieving them.

I think the phoenix you want is the one that's north of Uzer Camp in the desert...?

 

You can spam-click that one and get a full inventory of feathers pretty fast. Plus you get 26xp Thieving for every feather you get.

The fastest way to gather them is using a larupia to teleport to the jungle eagle's cave and taking that to the desert cave.

 

But yes, you should probably finish that quest.

There shuldnt really be any confusion over which bird to use. The OP had the right one anyway.

The confusion only arises because people insist on calling an item quite clearly named "Phoenix Quill" used in summoning and gotten from the phoenix D&D a Phoenix Feather.
