November 20, 201015 yr But it's true, there are actually conventions where game designers discuss how to make your game as addictive as possible.I love this argument because it means suddenly people aren't responsible for their own choices.Free will is a myth. November 20, 201015 yr Advertisements (read: more tasty burgers, scammer bait, games designed to be addictive) do actually affect you, whether you like it or not. Don't back out by saying you are immune, no one is. My blog
November 20, 201015 yr Advertisements (read: more tasty burgers, scammer bait, games designed to be addictive) do actually affect you, whether you like it or not. Don't back out by saying you are immune, no one is.Of course I'm not, but if I see something stupid on TV and run out to buy it, whose fault is that? It's my own damn fault and nobody else's. It's not even a tiny bit the fault of the advertisers, or the game designers, if people do what they say. Scammers are only different because what they do involves directly stealing, but even then if I fell for a scam I'd absolutely consider it my fault. You have choices, and other people will try to influence them. If you fall for it, that's YOUR fault, not theirs. I can't believe we're even having this discussion.
