meili
"We often forget that video games are entertainment." Uh, since when? Unless you are delusional, you pretty much know that playing a video game will not make you a kung fu master. brunokiller
But it's true, there are actually conventions where game designers discuss how to make your game as addictive as possible.I love this argument because it means suddenly people aren't responsible for their own choices.Free will is a myth. Surely some people are more susceptible than others, but it does play a role. My blog

brunokiller
Advertisements (read: more tasty burgers, scammer bait, games designed to be addictive) do actually affect you, whether you like it or not. Don't back out by saying you are immune, no one is. My blog
green9090
Advertisements (read: more tasty burgers, scammer bait, games designed to be addictive) do actually affect you, whether you like it or not. Don't back out by saying you are immune, no one is.Of course I'm not, but if I see something stupid on TV and run out to buy it, whose fault is that? It's my own damn fault and nobody else's. It's not even a tiny bit the fault of the advertisers, or the game designers, if people do what they say. Scammers are only different because what they do involves directly stealing, but even then if I fell for a scam I'd absolutely consider it my fault. You have choices, and other people will try to influence them. If you fall for it, that's YOUR fault, not theirs. I can't believe we're even having this discussion. brunokiller
Then it is depending on the person, partly the advertiser's fault and partly (mostly) of the one that buys it. My blog
