Should Runescape be made for a System?

Featured Replies

Here it is 2005 and JAGEX has moved into the top 5 of online rpg's played. This game has come a long way since rsc. But will they ever make it for a system?(ps2,ps3,x-box,x-box 360) I sure hope so. Jagex should totally make this game for a system. And develop a whole new fighting system. One where you actually have to have skill to pk or fight monsters. Although that sounds good to me I dont know how they would put the leveling system in. Now for all you members i know it does take skill to pk. But come on all in all its still a point and click experince. Well i hope Andrew reads this. lol. And makes my idea into a reality. But I think if Runescape was for a system I think it would be a lot like Fable. But thats just the way i think it would be made. Could you imagine runescape on x-box live? I could and hope it happens. :)

I highly doubt that Runescape would be made for a console. Even if it was, it would most likely be extremely different from the RS that we have come to know, and get addicted to. Also, even if it was made for a console, then it would most likely not be made by those who created and designed runescape, though they would obviosly play a part in it. RS for Xbox, I say no.

Hey hey, I may sound noobish when I say this: do MMORPGs get made into consoles? Do you see Lineage II, MU Online, Maple Story, Diablo II, Tibia, Fly For Fun, Ragnarok, ROSE Online, Seal Online... etc, get made into consoles? I think not.

No, I don't believe PC based MMORPGs get made into consoles, espeically one like Runescape. If they do so, It would be a different game based on the same genre (like Starcraft and Starcraft: Ghost).

Why do you resist? My experiments are only helping humanity push the boundaries of the Art of Toxicology... you should be proud to be one of my victims.

No it wont. Not now, not ever. Simply because there's no advantage of doing so. Computers are far more powerful, far more widespread and accessible.

No. I don't want to buy a system :) I'm not that serious of a gamer, and others like me play RS because it's cheaper: free to 5 bucks a month :)

There is so advantages.

Not ALL computers are more powerful, a solid, good computer is not as accessible as a PS2, consoles would not produce lag, using a console dramatically reduces the possibility of getting carpal tunneling.

Furthermore, JAGex could get more money from consumers by offering updates/upgrades or new added bonuses to the game only purchasable through player points.

Graphics would be wickedly better, screensizes would be bigger, resolution quality would be higher and the special added bonus of not having to click click click everything. On a PS2, it would be a total of 8 buttons tops to use. A PS2 can't get viruses, or crash and it can only become obsolete to a better model.

I say go for it. Ever play Everquest online?

Runescape would own if it came out for console, and I would be first in line to buy it, just to spite you.

ALSO, Runescape could still be played on PC, it could just be available as well on consoles.

Wow...I just scanned it with my new high tech program called "common sense" and it detected a scam.

With all due respect, Runescape is not meant to be a console game. I mentioned in an earlier post that I'm not a big gamer; I don't own any consoles. For me, RS is perfect like it is, and I'm sure there are many other 'scapers like me. Sure, the things you mentioned (which I bolded) can certainly make a game entertaining, but RS is *already* entertaining, simple as it is.

If this was made on a console, how would that even work?I mean,I play runescape like this:35% to talk to friends and people,65% to do quests skills etc. etc.If it was made onto a console, you would just have to get xbx live or w\e to talk to people and stuff, and then if you did, wouldn't it be better to just play RS on the computer?I,personally, cant see any good things coming from RS on a console, besides the facts stated by majinkamahal

You don't need a good computer to play Runescape. Just a computer with an internet connection. A computer with an internet connection is a far more accesible item than a PS2 with an internet connection (I hear the PS2 connection service is terrible anyway). For example: You don't go to a library to use their "Public PS2's" you go there to use their "Public PC's"

Anyway runescape gets updated so offen it would mean u wouldnt be able to have it on a console unless they bought a new cope of the gmae each week

can you imagine a point and click adventure game using a controller

hell, no?

definitely not on a console...

but i would like to see a PC version that required a download which could have more options for better graphics/visuals or at least a larger screen resolution or fullscreen

maybe it could be a download that costs $10, but gives you a free month or so of membership with the download, and a special item (hat or such), non tradeable, just to show that you downloaded it.

Of course i guess there is the runescape client, but what you're talking about is much different.
