Troacctid
But at the time, we were content with the system; everyone was familiar on how to buy/trade.You mean that you were content with it, right? Lots of people worked within the system, but if you were one of them, you probably wouldn't have interacted much with the people who intentionally avoided it, and in strictly business transactions, you may not have picked up on those who only resentfully accepted it as a necessary evil. To me, trying to trade was the crappy bookkeeping of Runescape, the virtual equivalent of shuffling all the decks before you can actually play cards--an obstacle that stands between the player and the fun. And I for one am a big fan of changing things for the better. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
green9090
Yeah, it sucked looking back on it. But at the time, we were content with the system; everyone was familiar on how to buy/trade. After they release a new system that is without a doubt better, people will try to find any fault with it in order to proclaim JaGeX did something wrong. Nobody likes change. Some people may have been content, but I haaated it. Always dreaded a trip to Falador, and had been making threads suggesting a GE equivalent (without the idiotic price restrictions, of course) years before the real one came out. Junkmutt
YES w2 did suck, and I did get arthritis from it (not really but you get the point). Not to mention how (insert expletive here) hard it was to get into at times. But many items generally had a set price i.e. DDS (yes dds not ddp++) went for 55-60k and if you found it for less you would snap it up for later sale. Also call me strange but I enjoyed that you had to know the price of every item or else you would get ripped off *cough* B Sales *cough* [hide=Drops]Dragon: Spear x1, Med helm x3, legs x2, pickaxe x1, skirt x3, scimitar x1Barrows: DH helm x1, Verac Brassy x2, Karil Skirt x1, Ahrim Hood x2, Guthan SpearGWD: Arma Helm x1Other: Handcannon x4, Leaf Bladed Sword x3[/hide]
Youmu
Like what everyone else in this thread is saying, the GE is indefinitely a better option for trading. I mean, who enjoys standing at one spot for hours spamming "buy law rune 1k!!!!!!!!!!!!!"? BlogTrimmed | Master Quester | Final BossBoss pets: Bombi | Shrimpy | Ellie | Tz-Rek Jad | Karil the Bobbled | Mega Ducklings120s: Dungeoneering | Invention
Ginger_Warrior
Just as a general observation, I see people asking general knowledge questions far more often than I ever did pre-GE. I mean, I'm talking about basic items like limestone, steel platelegs and tinderboxes. You get the feeling nowadays it's just "The GE sells over 7,000 items, chances are I'll find it there and not have to care about anywhere else". Then when the GE isn't selling, "Err... what now? I guess I'll just sit here and wait a bit..." | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
