Riku3220
Wait until the 3DS comes out in Spring. You'll be able to play all of the regular DS games and the new ones that will be for the 3DS. It makes me chuckle seeing all the parents scramble for DSi XLs, completely unaware that a much superior version is coming out in like, 4 months. Kimberly
DSi (2nd most) = DSlite (least expensive of the 3) but with a camera DSXL = bigger than the original ds screen, most expensive
K4ylan
DSLite is arguably the best out of all the DS's imo. Longest battery life, looks the sleekest, has a GBA slot (which you'll need for Pokémon). Only thing DSi has over it is a useless camera, really. DSiXL is just big, effectively making it non-portable realistically. And the original DS is bulky, and has lower battery life. ~~~The Harpy List~~~Harpy Facts~~~It's Super Effective~~~The Beginning~~~Harpy Therapy Center~~~Alg~~~Jedi Harpy~~~Rohirrim~~~Attenuation~~~

Demoli
My opinion, don't buy a DS right now, the 3DS wil be out in a few months and it will be backwards compatible. If you DO want to buy a DS even knowing the 3DS will be around soon, then buy the lite.
Krampell
In my opinion. If you want to play Pokemon badly then get a ds lite. It's not worth getting a dsi xl, it's just a waste of cash imo. It's just screwing around with it's region lock crap. You could also always download pokemon rom and play it on your pc and then wait for 3ds to be released 2011 and get that.Later pokemon gen are surely gonna have 3ds features. Princess Viola
I'd say get a DS Lite. Sure, it's a fragile piece of [cabbage], but it's the best one. Then, making sure you're keeping good care of it, trade it in for some cash to go for a 3DS near the release date.
Youmu
Fragility isn't even a problem when you don't let it fall to the ground. <_< But yea. Get a DS Lite, best DS ever. Make sure you play on the darkest light to maximize battery life.
