I have two

 

1. Is it worth wearing ardy cape over fire cape because of the 6+ stab bonus (and more prayer too)?

 

2. Is it worth using slash on monsters weak to slash even though the bonuses won't be as high eg spiritual mages?

1. For low defense monsters (most of slayer), fire cape is better. I use ardy cloak for steels, mithrils, and black dragons.

 

2. Generally, no. Again their defense is low enough as it is. Maybe it's worth using slash on skeletal wyverns but I am not positive on that.

I had a task of spiritual mages and swapped half way through and i felt as though i was hitting better, but it was only a feeling, not extensive research.

1. no, fire cape is always superior to ardougne cape 3

 

2. no, the only task where the difference between the monster's slash and stab defence is significant enough to warrant sacrifice 16 accuracy is wyverns, and that's fairly undocumented so it's pretty much speculation anyway.

1. from an efficiency standpoint fire cape should always be the best cape unless you have no other way to get prayer bonus

 

2. only think i can think of is on wyverns, but no point since cls and maul better anyway on them

Yes, I have had a lot of success with Ardy 3. It is the best good magic/melee hybrid cape. For slayer and killing monsters, Fire cape is better.

Possible, but unlikely.
