Hey,

So during or after The Fremennik Trials quest you can go back to the young boy named Askeladden who is outside the main hall. Talk to him and ask him for a new pet rock. Once you have it you can Talk to it, stroke, feed, play fetch, and tell it to stay. You can also wield your pet rock which uses both hands and makes you run awkwardly and walk while starring at it.
