Question about Range slaying weapons.

These are the three main weapons that could possibly be used on Slayer tasks. A Rune Crossbow is usable for those that do not have a chaotic crossbow.

 

Lifting heavily from Grimy's DPS calculators and assuming Eagle Eye and optimal gear on each task (what I mentioned in the "Gear" section), it is advisable to use

 

Dragon Darts on:

 

Aberrant Spectres

Dust Devils

Fire Giant

Greater Demons

Gargoyles

Hellhound

Kalphite

Spiritual Mage

Terror Dog

Warped Tortoise

 

Magic Shortbow on:

 

Abyssal Demon

Black Demon

Blue Dragon

Desert Strykewyrm

Iron Dragon

Jungle Strykewyrm

Living Rocks

Suqah

 

Chaotic Crossbow on:

 

Black Dragon

Mutated Bloodveld

Dark Beast

Mithril Dragon

Steel Dragon

 

According to this list these are the best weapons to use. However, for someone like myself who either dont have the weapon listed(CCbow) or cant afford said Ammunition(Rune Arrows & Dragon Darts). Would it be efficient to replace them with say Adamant Darts and either Adamant Arrows or Mithril Arrows?

I'd replace MSB with kxbow if you are rich, but since you are not, just go with rcbow and broad bolts. Adamant/rune darts are still good in Kuradal's but I find them very annoying due to their high speed.

Rune c'bow with Broads are my current weapon/ammo of choice. I was mainly concerned about the MSB ammo and dart's. I cant afford the KXbow,Rune Arrows, or Dragon/Rune Darts. I figured using darts on my current slayer task of greaters with fero ring would be more efficient than using rune c'bow with broads since their defence is horrible.

Like I said, stick with the crossbow except in Kuradal's dungeon on the lower defence monsters, on which you can use adamant darts. I recommend melee slaying if you are short on cash, and frost dragons if you need money and ranged xp.

I use Rune xBow + Broad Bolts on any task i choose to Range and to be honest it works perfectly fine. I guess it's the same exp diff you get with that of a Whip vs. Rapier.

You really ought to be making enough money from the tasks to pay for even the most expensive ammo, so it's odd to me that you claim you can't afford it.

Wait, doing more damage faster is the grindfest?

 

I'd think the grindfest would be sitting around with inferior weapons wasting time (and, effectively, money) because of some misguided notion of frugality.

I do use my Rune c'bow with broad's i just figured it would be more efficient to use darts or msb on lower def tasks.
