Returning from 2005 retirement-too much change, where to start?

oh wow i dont know where to even start.

 

so i started playing runescape in april 2000 on RSC when i was in middle school.

 

i was a pure at start 40-1-67, had many friends, too much fun pking.

 

then i got members during the next summer of 2001 and things really took off.

 

got to 70-80-70 and made a ton from staking.

 

got hacked in 2003 and lots most but friends got me back into the game with help and money.

 

played for another few months and got bored and high-school was hard and needed to focus on getting into university.

 

2005 came and i got into uni so i quit completely to focus on school.

 

that brings me to today where im in 3rd year of uni and at the point where studies are a breeze and i have some spare time.

plus a long time friend is begging me to play with him.

 

 

 

my stats aren't that bad considering i quit for over 5 years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

so where should i start?

my first goal is to get 90-90-90 to be decent at combat atleast.

It sounds like you're into combat, I would train it via Slayer or even Dungeoneering (a complex-at-first, but easy-after-you-get-it skill). I would also suggest getting 70 prayer and finishing the quest King's Ransom, which can unlock a very good prayer, piety. If you decide to train slayer or combat in general I highly suggest collecting charms to train summoning which is a very useful skill for combat and general runescaping.

You may also want to take up farming herbs, they're good profit for relatively little time invested. I'm also going to link you to grimy's spreadsheets, they provide statistical information for many skills. Slayer is a favoured skill nowadays and is many peoples choice for combat training, the black mask increases your atack and strength by 15% when killing your slayer task.

 

While it will soon become less useful, the grand exchange makes trading a lot easier than it used to be. Basically you type in an item, enter your price (within a range, there are plans to remove this) and if somebody has entered that item for sale at your price or lower, the item will appear in your grand exchange box, accessible from any banker.

 

Doing some quests would also help as they'll send you around the news areas of the map and unlock various things.

Do some quests, those usually explain some new content. Or take advantage of not knowing about everything and just explore.

Many new crazy updates have come out. Chaotic Rapier from dungeoneering, dragon claws from the quest 'while guthix sleeps", overloads from 96 herblore, and Turmoil at 95 prayer. I recommend planting toadflaxes w/ supercompost at the 5 patches between slayer tasks.
