RESULTS
okay so i quit about 2 years ago after being hacked, and have started a new account, which i have been training ranged and defence on. Both of which are now level 38, as is my combat.I plan to go members son in order to pursue slayer, and i want to make range my main form of combat, with melee if I feel like it. Its obviously i while since I last was a member. (my other acc was level 59 slayer and 96 combat) What quests do i need to do in order to maximise the ease of training slayer? I'm aware that Smoking kills (literally) helps but I need 85 combat, which I aim to achieve over time. Also can you give some advice on anything which may have changed over the last year or two regarding setups and important quests/skills? thanks
Sy_Accursed
Unless your planing to be a pking pure restricting yourself a singular combat type is foolish.Especially in newer high end monsters and even some old ones they have very obvious strengths and weaknesses subject to combat types so you need all 3 to be an effective fighter. Also trying to be a range slayer is a bad plan, some slayer tasks can be ranged or should be ranged by the vast majority of slayer task monsters are rather resistant to ranging (other than cannon) Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
Quyneax
If he wants to range, he can range. I'd first get a focus sight (+15% ranged on task) and a dwarven cannon (latter requires a quest). For ranging overall, you need defence, ranged, constitution and prayer levels, with perhaps summoning. Do quests that give xp in those skills. Dungeoneering to ~85 for a chaotic crossbow and rigour is probably a good idea, the crossbow only for high-defence opponents such as steels and mithrils. You can also get mercenary's gloves which are really not worth it but a fun accessory (they have the highest ranged attack of all gloves, but only by 1 point). Before you can start slayer, get around 50 ranged, defence and a bit of prayer. A magic shortbow can do pretty well in most cases. Final tip: Don't hold back on ammo costs/prayer use. Use eagle eye if you can, use ranging potions all the time, use runite bolts (or diamonds on high-defence things). RESULTS
like i said i'll probably train melee when i have ranged and defense up somewhat.I've made note of the focus signt and the chaotic chrossbow, but is there anything more short term which would benefit my combat and slayer gain? i remember things mostly, but am oblivious to any new updates since early 2009. thanks guys, and to make a bit of cash i'm gonna switch my training to chaos druids for a few days when I go members. highlanders
Did you lose the account that got hacked? Even if there are no possessions, the stats are still there. Making a new account now is basically running in circles. 2480+ total
RESULTS
i left it when i quit, and now can't remember enough about the account to recover it from the hacker.I had it briefly a few days ago, but it was 'stolen' again. they must know more than me. Either way it had some good possessions and levels, but i've tried recovering a few times - all unseccessfulfeelsbadman.
Jain_Charin
I mostly range, I would suggest getting at least 60 dungeoneering for the Blue Dragons resource dungeon. The Focus sight you should get as soon as you can, I have a cannon but rarely use it. Accumulator is a must. Anything that is low to mid level (~95) I use knifes/darts. Higher than that I use Mith/broad bolts. I used Chaeldar until 85 combat. I use summona now currently 87 cmb.
