Everyone obviously knows that the classic trade is coming back to runescape, and i just wanted to know, how does everyone know the values of items? this is something that confused me since i started playing runescape, is there like a website that everyone looks at for it or do they just make up a price and scam the noob? lol

The GE will still exist to give a ballpark, but it's whatever you feel it's worth. If you can find a buyer/seller that agrees to your price, that's what it's worth.

The Grand exchange has set values for all items and there is a grand exchange section on the main rs webpage that shows all these values.

 

People assume with all the work put in to item vlaues for death system and balanced trades etc that even after free trade these values will remain and be used within the ge; though hopefully jagex will get on top of nerfing ge values to match street values.

However pre-ge, prices were made up of seller and buyer, and the market decided, solo merchanting worked well for the skilled. However there were some sites with approximate value of equips and raw products.

Before free trade was taken away price ranges were listed on Runescape forums by Jagex Moderators. GE will just be an ingame version of this
