Sado
Hey! So I have finally done wgs and I was thinking about camping tds ;) Since I have spent almost all of my cash on herblore I am broke. So I will need to make cash for armour and such. I don't know of any good/fast money making methods so I have decided to give hunter a shot. A long time ago a friend of mine told me that grenwall hunting is good cash but I have never really bothered checking them out since I didn't high enough hunter level and I did not like the skill in the beginning. So my questions are; How much money will I make hunting grenwalls&payas(spelling?) from 80-99 hunter? Is it good to hunt them at level 80? Do you know of a guide that I can check out? I am nearing 91 herb and I want to make ovls. What level should I get to stew to 96? Kinda hard to explain, but I do know of that you can get up to +6 but that's kinda impossible. So since I don't have patience, I don't to stew many levels. My prayer level is low. Currently 75. I want to get it to 95 for ss & turm. Should I buy it for the money I get from hunter? Will it be efficent to kill tds with these stats? 85 attack85 strength85 defence90 constitution90 ranged75 prayer (possible 90+ depending of what You suggest)99 magic88 summoning What should my gear consist of? I have the EEE and the SW cape. I also plant herbs and marigolds every ~1½ hours so that will add upp to about 30-40m once I'm done with hunter. foursideking
Soul wars cape, and find a partner to duo them, seeing as it is more efficient. I also recently read a guide saying you can apparently make steady profit and 95kxpph at grenwalls...not too sure if that's good or not...
Quyneax
Duo tds is not more efficient at all, just more relaxed (and even that is doubtful). Grenwalls become good at 90+ hunter. Until then I suggest butterflies and/or jadinko's. You really want scentless potions, fruit bats and fruitfall scrolls to do them. If you don't already have it, void is the way to go at tds. Use elite void, fury, sw cape, d boots/ranger's boots, berserker (i) or dstone/onyx (i), chaotic maul + handcannon and switch helmets, weapons and prayer (piety and rigour). At your current stats, that means you need ~340k dg tokens if you do not already have maul and rigour. I have the EEE and the SW cape. I also plant herbs and marigolds every ~1½ hours so that will add upp to about 30-40m once I'm done with hunter. Grenwall's are decent money only at 90 + hunter. The success rate for catching them at 99 is still fairly low (~35%). You can not use a hunter boosting familiar due to the need for a fruitbat to hunt them effectively. So no, do not hunt them at 80 hunter. Going from 80 to 90 hunter however should be done at the herblore habitat. This will be the fastest exp you can get as well as gaining you invaluable assets for later, like farming juju's and if you still want to hunt grenwalls by that time scentless potions. At 99 hunter using scentless potions almost doubles the capture rate allowing for ~1.5-1.7 mil an hour. There are no really good guides out there, I'm planning on making one once I have ~1 k scentless potions stocked up to spend a lot of time there for cash/research. Short guide though is 5 box traps, bonecrusher for convenience, a fruitbat pouch with ~ 1 k scrolls (you won't use them all but it's always better to not run out), and three scentless potions (3 dose). Summon your fruitbat and cast fruitfall, gathering only the papaya's until you have ~7. Bait 5 box traps to catch pawya's and once you have ~3 pawya meats keep a balance of 2-3 traps baited with pawya meat and the remaining baited with papaya's (depending on which bait you have more of in your inv). Each fruitbat lasts for 44 minutes and each dose of scentless lasts for 5. 5x9=45 min so almost perfect with your fruitbat's timer. Have a stop watch app up on your screen so you remember to pot up every 5 min (although you will get a reminder it can get missed in the wall of text). As you hunt grenwalls they will randomly give high level herbs as well as the spikes so one fruitbat will generally last till a full inv of herbs. I can't answer the question about TD's, I know nothing about them sadly... However I have a hard time believing that you only will make 30-40 mil from herb farming and marigolds seeing as snapdragon is easily 1 mil a day, with only four runs avg profit of 250 k with a scroll of life and juju's, and 8 runs a day is possible. Here's a guide for herblore habitat http://forum.tip.it/topic/281681-herblore-habitat/ And here's grimy's spreadsheet for farming for referencing which herb to farm at your level.https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AhdHFDsdlxujdHZ5WDZDRGo3cU5CeDV4SUE1U2hBLXc&hl=en#gid=0 Cheers! Edit Soul wars cape, and find a partner to duo them, seeing as it is more efficient. I also recently read a guide saying you can apparently make steady profit and 95kxpph at grenwalls...not too sure if that's good or not... 95 k exp/hr seems obscenely high, I was averaging 70 k at 99 hunter. Also Q beat me to posting...darn my longwindedness (yes it's a word). Trolling by giving good advice since April 2011. Sado
Thank you guys. I now do more or less now what to do ;) I will do herblore habitat till 90 then change to grenwalls. As for the tds I do have elite void (working on the melee mask atm) and I will be getting 85 dungoneering. For my 1st 200k I was thinking about buying chaotic rapier and the 2nd 200k for a chaotic maul. Is it better if I buy the rapier and rigour than the rapier and the maul along with the ss+turm? Cuz then I won't be able to hit so high with either the maul or the rapier and flash ss. What do you think?
Quyneax
Rapier + rune crossbow with turmoil is what I use, works pretty well, but ss flashing really is only relevant with a steel titan. With a unicorn, you don't need healing. Maul + handcannon/kxbow switching piety and rigour takes another (prayer) switch but gets you faster kills. The rapier should come first. After that, I think rigour, then maul. Strictly looking at tds. For general use, the crossbow is pretty nice for dks, arma, nex, the maul for wfs, bandos, nex. Sado
OK. Cr and rigour it is then I guess. As for my stats is it worth it to kill tds? I will be using ovls and heal with EEE so I assume my levels will be at 110+/85 since I get 108/85 when I use ext. About the handcannon, is it better than rune crossbow/karil's crossbow for my ranged level once I hit 90 ranged?? Ive heard it breakes quite frequently even if you have high fm level. Quyneax
It depends on your firemaking levels. At 90+ fm, I'd say use it & bring a spare. Yes it's worth it. You should be at 108/85 permanently. Kxbow > rxbow, however if you are using a rapier it may be inconvenient to use a 2h ranged weapon.
