nathant53
Hello all, I'm recently playing Runescape again because of boredom, lots has changed and I need some advices on slayer with ranging. I got some questions.. What slayer master would be best for me? I'm aiming for exp ( range/slayer ) and some profit if possible. What range gear would fit best ( nothing too expensive 10m max ). Here are my stats if needed. 99 Att99 str80 def97 hp91 range70 pray80 magic68 summon82 Slayer If you got any other suggestions that can help me, please feel free to let me know. MY GOAL IS 85 SLAYER! =] THANKS ALL!
Autist
Are you going to use cannon?Because if not, the xp, both for slayer and ranged, is going to be quite slow. I am not 100% sure, but someone said that Chaeldar (the fairy) is best if you want to cannon a lot of tasks. I am range slaying also lately, mainly because I noticed I have over 27m in attack xp, and defence and strength are also maxed, and ranged wasn't. I am using a pretty noobish gear, but so far I am doing just fine.Black hides, glory, runecbow, snakeskin boots, avas ava's accumulator, broad bolts, full slayer helmet, spirit shield(zammy book) (I am poor) :( I take tasks from Kuradal. I range-tank most tasks, and cannon the tasks that I can.
Quyneax
I'd go for Kuradal, her tasks are best for pretty much anything. Other than that, use darts/knives with fero (kxbow if you decide to do metals). Try to do only low-defence tasks as well. Block waterfiends, mithrils, steels, and two you hate doing. Use eagle eye/rigour + cannon + range pots at all times. EEE to spec. Zaaps1
Pretty much this. Except I would say instead of doing irons in Kura's dungeon, cannon them in the Wilderness Castle if you do that quest. Otherwise, you could try cannoning in Brimhaven or the resource dungeon, but those steels are going to be annoying. Speaking of steels, you could cannon them too outside Kura's, but I'd just cancel them. I wouldn't block them though, too rare to waste your points on unless you have an open slot you don't want to put anything else in. MSB + Rune arrows is still very effective and on certain tasks beats xbows and darts. The best option is always the handcannon, of course, but it's too expensive to be practical. Next up is Karil's xbow, which is still rather expensive, but a lot cheaper than using the handcannon. Another step down from that is just using darts/msb/normal xbow varying on the task. Also feel a little "meh" on blocking miths. It's a fast task, even if it's bad xp. Because of the fast points, though, it lets you get more points quicker for canceling low and slow tasks. But imo that one's borderline, and there's certainly logic to blocking them. ~It's Super Effective! Quyneax
It depends how you do miths. If you have a rune crossbow and broad bolts, I'd say block/skip. If you have ccbow and diamonds, or handcannon, or maybe kxbow even (not sure), then go ahead. If you have rigour, even more so. nathant53
I'm currently using the master at Shilo. The other guy seems more work and harder task. Should I stick to shilo master?
Zaaps1
I'm currently using the master at Shilo. The other guy seems more work and harder task. Should I stick to shilo master? As far as slayer masters are concerned, if you CAN use a higher master, you almost always should. If you have Kuradal open as an option, there's absolutely no reason not to, unless you want to stockpile points. In that case, you will want to use the Canafis master then go to Kuradal every 10th task. Terrible slayer xp, but the fastest points achievable. ~It's Super Effective! I think I got everything settle pretty good. Just for a shield. What should I use that doesn't cost much, but yet still effective for defense/low range decreasing. What should I use that doesn't cost much, but yet still effective for defense/low range decreasing. If you can afford a blessed spirit shield(2.7m), get it. Otherwise, a normal spirit shield will work too. Both have good def bonuses and don't decrease range accuracy at all. amitoz
Melee with cannon for best results. Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price. nathant53
Darnn. I just notice you need to do Summer End for the spirit shields. Is there any other shield thats good for rangers? Limited quest requirements.. ?
Quyneax
I think spirit shields are pretty much the only ones without an attack penalty, but the dragon square shield is pretty cheap and effective.
