I've noticed that there are an increasing number of worlds that have pings significantly lower than what I'm accustomed. It used to be I'd never get lower than 79/80. Now there are 6 under 50. Is Jagez making upgrades or something? I'm not a hardware person, just curious.

Last year they did some server migrations so it may have been to some better hardware. I haven't really noticed much difference but maybe that's because I had fairly low ping to begin with.

Jagex has been performing server maintenance over the last couple of weeks and a fair few people seem to be reporting better pings on worlds so I would assume that that's what the maintenance is doing or is at least a side effect.
