Octarine
So, the other day I finally started something I've wanted to do for ages, which is to make a DIY account from scratch.Basically no player-trades/GE/assists, buying from shops is allowed (how would I ever get spirit shards? :o) Currently the stats are: I've already started to run into my first problems; -F2P mining is incredibly competitive and annoying.-Steel hatchet is the best I can obtain aside from smithing it myself (not the case for pickaxes)-and the biggest annoyance of them all, often actually having to walk places instead of being able to run everywhere! damn this no agility! Anyway I'm basically looking for advice on when people think I should get members and for what useful reasons? and also any other tips on DIY accounts? Quyneax
Getting members > getting 100 total in the short, medium and long run. I'd get it now and start farming/summoning etc, those will take time especially if you have to gather your seeds. Get MTK started up ASAP and you need some source of raw gp to fund that. I'm not sure what would be good for that, but I imagine alching rune drops works best - fight some metal dragons or something. foursideking
Start up slayer in p2p, and use that to get combat up/get gp. Oh, and quy, I think you misread his stats. Fight metal dragons w/ that low combat?

Fight metal dragons w/ that low combat? Not misread, I'm thinking long-term ;). First thing you got to do is beat dragon slayer etc. for some fast atk/str xp. zotto
Why not get members now and start killing lvl2 men for precious herbs and combat levels.
Octarine
From here and also reading Itams blog it does look lilke members should be one of my biggest priorities, since progress is a pain in f2p already. I'l wait til holidaystime to get it though, doesnt feel quite worth paying for two accounts worth of members while im at uni and wont use it much.Slay/farm/mtk are gonna be the most useful things I need by the sounds of it w.r.t. DIY so looks like members is gonna have to be a must.. Guess in the meantime it couldnt hurt to get the F2P quests done atleast. Thanks everyone :D Blog of DG, Bossing (mostly Glacors) and stuff - Runetrack Play Safe! - Got useful information for the tip.it website? Post here!
