First up is a wallpaper thing I made in a short time span. The wallpaper thing presents the Pokemon Ditto winning the game, against Kyogre* and Mewtwo.

 

 

*Kyogre was shamelessly redrawn from a reference sprite (Pokemon B/W I think, not sure, don't remember).

 

Totally unrelated is some design of a video game character I redesigned.

 

 

Last thing is a website design I created. It's simplistic-yet-fun at the same time. In a similar vein to some indie game dev websites (2DBoy I'm looking at you).

Yea I've been thinking the website is kind of bland (or very bland, you take your pick :P). 'tis why I posted it.

 

Anything I could do to make the website less bland?

 

(The first thing is more for comedy than artistic value haha :P).

Hard to say really. The layout just kind of is really basic. Doing a cool designed site like that can work really well. Maybe tomorrow if you're curious (about to go to bed here) I could find a few good examples of illustrated web sites but the big thing I can say that I've seen a lot doing is do a big illustrated scene as the background, or do a large header and do an illustrated scene there. Play to your strengths pretty much.

I love vectors, I really do. Personally, I don't care much for cartoony styled, 2-D vectors, but the is my taste. All your lines are nice and clean, but all of the works, I feel, could be in greater detail. The second one looks like a really good start, I think, but it could be continued on. Artwors such as this:

That has an insane amount of detail, and i'm not suggesting you recreate that. But putting more detail into lighting, and the general make up of the image, and it could be cool. By detal, I mean use more strokes and what not.

I've redesigned my website. I believe it's quite a bit better, but it's always nice to hear from others!

I know that's a vector(and a really good one), but I wouldn't have used that as an example... she looks so old with that vector... like 60 at least... lol
