I came up with this idea the day the M&M forum opened. And the original thread can be found here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The thread is named movie of the WEEK, because that sounds good. But actually weÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve got TWO WEEKS to watch the movie and discuss it, so you can find the right mood to watch the movie or because some of you donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have that much time to watch a movie once a week, or if you need to go on vacation for a week then you donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have to miss the thread, you can simply join in the next week. And maybe some of you simply donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t want to watch a movie that certain week. Or any other reason you can think of.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now we all know that letÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s move to the rest of the topic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Every WEEK there will be three movies you can vote on to see the next week. The three movies will be selected by a user that regularly participates in this topic. I will pick a new user every week. And I will start with selecting three movies to get things rolling.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE VOTES ARE OPEN FOR A WEEK AND EVERY SECOND WEEK OF THE ROUND THAT IS GOING ON AT THAT MOMENT A NEW VOTING ROUND WILL START. If you donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t get this, for whatever reason there is. IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll try and explain it with an EXAMPLE.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Week 1. Choosing movie.

 

 

 

Week 2. Movie is selected, we start watching and discuss.

 

 

 

Week 3. Continue watching and discussing, and on the side a new voting round will start.

 

 

 

Week 4. Start watching and discussing movie selected from week three.

 

 

 

Week 5. Continue watching and discussing, and on the side a new voting round will start.

Not everything is directly available to everyone, so letÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s try and keep that in mind while we are selecting our movies. So, if you want try a movie thatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s older than 1999, try and find something that is a bit well known and relatively easy to get, instead of an obscure Zimbabwean silent, black and white movie made in 1870. If you want to choose world cinema, and for example you want to try something Italian: go for something that is a bit well known, so instead of the never on DVD released Il Conformista, go for something like La Dolce Vita. Of course you wonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t find these movies at Blockbuster either, but they are easy to find in shops, and are also easily ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâacquiredÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The point of this thread is to find out, why you find a movie good, to find out why others donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think the movie you like is that good. And that all done in a somewhat mature, but of course not strictly business, way. So, I donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think thereÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s something wrong when you name somebody an ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâidiotÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ in a somewhat heated and emotional debate, but try to keep it fun. We shall go into several things, from acting to writing and from score to costume design, and everything in between.

1. Topic for movie selecting. These will be open for a week. People can cast their votes, however NOT trough the poll system. You need to post in the thread itself, naming the movie you select. This is to not get 100 votes and only 50 people participating in a round with a movie they never wanted. If you selected a movie, and you find out you canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t participate in the next round, please make a reply saying you donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have time. This way we can keep things fair and we can withdraw your vote.

 

 

 

2. A new topic for every round where a movie is discussed. These will be locked at the end of every round. This is to prevent the M&M forum getting full of movie of the week topics, and there being no space for other topics on page one. There will be a link to every topic created in this (the thread I am writing now) thread, so you can look things up for later reference.

This topic will be the general topic, where you can find the main information and to ask questions to clear up things you arenÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t sure about. Also if there are things that you would like to change; give us the suggestions and we'll see if we can change it!
