Double Xp Weekend and Dung

Featured Replies

So right now im going for rapier and frosts and for double xp weekend I was going to do a farm Run then do agility as im broke and wouldnt mind it getting a higher level. However if you will get double xp and tokens for dungoneering i will much rather do that as I dont like it that much and I would love to get rapier faster. So, will double xp mean double tokens?

and if it does anybody wanna go with me to dung on that weekend? im GMT+8 and would be playing saturday and sunday and dont wanna spent time waiting for people and then have a slow dungeon

DK's Drops: 7 Berserker Rings, 2 Warrior Ring, 1 Archers Ring, 7 Dragon Hatchet, 1 Seercull, 3 Elite Clue - All Solo

GWD Drops (CS): 1 Bandos Chestplate, 2 Armadyl Hilt, 1 Armadyl Chestplate

Slayer:1 D skirt, 2 Whip, 12 G Mauls, 2 Dragon Boots

The bonus weekend will double your dung xp but not your tokens. It says in last weeks update section

Glacors Drops - 33 shards.

Armadyl Drops - 1 Chestplate. 1 Hilt. 2 gloves . 2 Skirts.

Yeah, it's exp only I'm afraid.

Getting higher DG levels and thus higher prestige DOES have an extremely significant effect on the rate at which you can gather tokens later though, so powerleveling dungeoneering might not be out of the question if you don't have something better to work on. Unless you have some reason you really want your agility up, I'd do DG.

If you do dungeoneering on bxp, you probably will, but that's not a big deal. The higher the level, the faster the tokens. It's not like more total levels can hurt you, and it'll get you future chaotics faster as well.

Agility's a fine way to spend it too, though. I just think dungeoneering would be more useful.

If you're purely looking at the math of it - DG seems to be the better skill to train.

The exp you get from training DG has huge returns as you level up whereas the only difference in Agility you can really tell is between arenas.

Plus, DG maxes at 120 :P, so you might as well get a head start on that.

Since it really hasn't been mentioned, I thought I would just throw this out there..

On Double XP weekend, people doing strictly dungeon are going to be.. pushy. Since your dungeon XP is indirectly based on your teammates performance, if your team is slow at completing floors, your bonus XP will be heavily reduced.

On the flip-side, if you are "to slow" at completing floors, your team may end up kicking you and really put a damper on your XP.

My advice:

1) Make sure you are up to date on all the "rushing" strategies. Getting kicked because you are to slow is going to heavily reduce your XP. I think there are some really good AOW guides on this?

2) Make sure your teammates are also up to date on "rushing" strategies. A 2 hour dungeon is going to be alot less XP than 2 1-hour dungeons.

3) Make sure you know your team. Picking a team of random people will mean you don't know if #2 is true. There are some [cabbage] heads who will kick you at the end of the floor, just for spite/fun.

4) Make a back-up plan. Have your agility materials ready. If the worst situation arises, and you can't find a decent team, have an alternative skill you are willing to train. Even if you don't use it, its better than sitting there not knowing what to do as the counter clocks down.

[quote name='Three Cheers

by Mod Knox 24-Feb-2011]~The bonus XP multiplier will be applied after all other Dungeoneering modifiers. The tokens you earn from a dungeon will be based on the actual XP you receive from a dungeon before the bonus XP modifies it. Dungeoneering tokens will still only be worth 1XP each if traded in with the rewards NPC. For example' date=' if you complete a dungeon while the bonus XP modifier is at 2.7x and get 10,000XP and 1,000 tokens, you will actually receive 27,000 Dungeoneering XP in total, but still only 1,000 tokens.[/quote']

Hope that answers your question.

My honest reccomendation is to pick something that costs a huge amount of money like construction or herblore, or something painfully slow like agility. Although I suppose dg works too.
